I have been watching all your videos on the versa since I put a deposit down on a manual Versa for my wife’s commuter car. I originally went in to it not excited at all and just wanting a basic car for transportation. After watching these I am actually excited and can’t wait for it to get here lol thanks for covering these cars!
@@youtoobe169 you’re welcome, it’s supposed to be here the 27th but originally it was supposed to be the 19th. It keeps getting delayed. Hopefully it will be here soon.
One of my first cars was a 1995 Subaru Legacy 5 Speed Wagon. Back then the Legacy was about the size the Impreza is today. I loved that car - it would go through anything. I don’t understand why so few people are buying stickshift compacts and hatchbacks, especially in today’s economy. They are fun, fast and it’s not impossible to save up enough cash to buy them outright (although just a few years ago you could pick one of these up for $10k). Seems like everyone’s married to payments and nine airbags these days.
Most non-car people don't give it much thought. I had an '89 or '90 Legacy wagon as a company car years ago. Great driving cars! It had a rust hole when it was 3 years old that was fixed under warranty,
I just bought a 2010 VW Golf as my first car. It is a base model, with a non-turbo 2.5 engine and a 5 speed manual. No touchscreens or extra unnecessary features. I love the small size and simplicity, as well as the manual transmission. I will keep the Golf as long as I can, but unfortunately when it is time to get a new car the options for a small, manual, simple car will be very limited.
Your basic car history resonates with me. The less there is, the less there is to go wrong. I drive a 2015 Nissan Versa Note which has been faultless throughout its 84,000 mile run so far. I'm in it for the long haul so I doubt I'll trade it anytime soon. (It has a CVT which I got used to after a long line of manuals).
Hi! Thanks for all these versa videos! When you put the key in the door to open the car, do all four doors open? Or just the driver's? Can you also open all doors from the passenger side?
Maybe you addressed this in another video but how are the seats? Do they feel fatiguing or uncomfortable after any length of time driving? My mom's 2014 sentra has fairly bad seats and I hope this isnt the case with the new versa 😅
Great story about the Colt! I wish more people would consider and buy cheaper cars again. Many automakers really want to push you towards a more expensive (and profitable) car, getting people into longer and longer loan terms for them to be able to afford it. But on the consumer side, it seems like a lot consumers nowadays really only are concerned about the monthly payment but not the interest rate, total cost, or length of the loan. I really wonder how much further they can push the needle until consumers break. Kudos to Nissan for sticking in the game and keeping the manual too.
My favorite cars have been the most basic. The higher end feature packed cars were usually a headache. I do like my GMC Sierra but I love simplistic little cars.
I had a '99 and 06 altima also a 2020 versa cvt. My favorite was the '99 altima, it had a 5speed manual and an OEM strut bar. Im looking at a base model sentra as my next car.
Thank you for updates we really appreciate your effort . Can you make videos of the interior in detail and how is it holding up, anything you like or dislike, show us the hill assist dose it hold every time or hit or miss. Infotainment system ect….. have you tried to buy the wireless apple carplay adapter and see if it work with current system.
Thanks for the kind words! I will see what I can do about putting together an interior video. Hill start assist seems pretty good, and I haven't looked into Apple Carplay. I didn't know there was an adapter.
@@youtoobe169if there is an adapter I’d love to find out about it too. I had another question how do you feel about the hard door panel? It wouldn’t have taken much to just put minimal elbow padding like they have in the SV and SR.
I currently have a 2023 Kia Sportsge EX FWD, but I am heavily considering a 2023 Versa S manual. I have a few concerns. Will i have issues with not having Andriod Auto down the road in terms of using my phone and Versa together? I guess what im trying to say is will Bluetooth become extinct anytime soon? I never use my android auto, and honeslty never need it, but should I be realistic in terms of upcoming phone tech? How easy is it to pick the lock in the trunk? Im used to not worrying about things like that, but without a key faub (a mistake fot Nissan to take out), I'd worry about the safety of what's in my trunk. Have you missed not having a key faub and not having Andriod Auto? Does Nissan provide some sort of credit card type key i can keep in my wallet just in case i lock myslef out of my car? I guess if i had to , I could cut a key with a flat metal head instead of the bulky plastic one. Can i do an after market upgrade to and get andriod auto through Nissan directly or would i have to go elsewhere? Aside from those two issues, id love the car. My Sportage is so big. Its really almost too big for me. I also worry, with all the tech my car has, that long-term maintenence costs could be expeensive of any kf that tech goes bad. My first car was a 1990 Ford Festiva L-Plus. I loved that car. It was so tossable, and i could park it anywhere. I eventually got a 1996 Fors Aspire and enjoyed that as well. I thiught it would be nice to have one more car like that in my life before im too old to enjoy it. I miss not having a stick shift.
I don't have an Android and I don't like Apple Carplay so no loss there for me. The trunk is probably no easier to pick than any other trunk. If someone wants in to any car, they will get in. As for the key, you may be able to squeeze an extra in your wallet. I really pay attention so I don't lock it in the car. I have a friend that loves those Festivas.
@@youtoobe169I love the fact that with my 2020 Versa S manual it still has a fob. What I don’t like, aside from no apple CarPlay, no standard center armrest, hard door panel zero padding….is that the back seat DOES’T fold down.
Hi friend. Im looking for a car with not great credit. Every affordable manual i try to jump on, they always seem to go before i can get them. I won't slave myself to a car payment for just any car, I'm particular to certain brands, and will avoid outright certain companies or engines/transmissions. Since you are into the versa, and probably have similar tons of cars in life experience, im asking what you really think if i was to attempt to finance one of these new. I would avoid all nissans except a manual frontier typically, so would initially avoid this one but will put lots of credence to your conclusion. Ive owned primarily hondas on purpose, but have had many other brands. So im between Versa and payments, or keep looking for a honda/toyota gem somewhere.
Ultimately, it's whatever you feel comfortable with. You can buy a perfectly reliable used car for less than a new Versa, so it really depends on what you like and your budget. Based on my own personal experience with the Versas, I would recommend one but I've never kept one long enough to know long term reliability. It does seem well built though and it's fun to drive and comfortable. Some dealers may let you leave a deposit on one, then test drive it and if you don't like it get your deposit back.

I don't think i could get used to a CVT
Thanks for sharing your background with us and what led you to these types of cars. Would love a manual hatchback version of one of these!
You're welcome and thanks for the kind words!
I feel similar with the hatch but the 15 cu ft trunk is great and makes me not miss a hatch all that much!
Hi! Thanks for all these versa videos! When you put the key in the door to open the car, do all four doors open? Or just the driver's? Can you also open all doors from the passenger side?
Just one door at a time. You then can click the unlock button which will unlock all doors.
Maybe you addressed this in another video but how are the seats? Do they feel fatiguing or uncomfortable after any length of time driving? My mom's 2014 sentra has fairly bad seats and I hope this isnt the case with the new versa 😅
The seats are very comfortable and it's a great long trip car
Good luck finding one.
I made a video about how to find one

Glad you enjoyed the video! I'm so happy that Nissan still makes this car in this configuration. It's really the only one of its kind left.

I like those early Altimas. They are pretty sweet cars.

I don't see a temperature gauge on the dash
It doesn't have that feature

I was waiting for mine and it never came. Got my $500 back at least
Well that sucks. Did it show as inbound on the nissanusa website?
Oops see manual 😮
Thanks for watching!
Was this a manual transmission
