Why wouldn't u recommend them what was wrong u guys sounded like u liked the rear bumper and that tire carrier that you had made that hooked to that moto bilt bumper so what you dont want to say who made the tire carrier for you or your sayi g to go to other company that makes rear bumpers that have tire carrier built into the bumper
Steve Hagman we do like the rear bumper. Motobilt is a great brand, and our rear bumper has side protection which is a must if you plan on taking your gladiator offroad, which we do, but the tire carrier was way overpriced for what we got. We don’t like to give additional business to places who take advantage of people. The design was very basic, and they used the wrong latches which made it impossible to close. We had to drill out our own holes to come up with a way to get it to lock. It seemed like there were basic steps missed by someone who said they have done lots of tire carriers. They also blocked one of the back up sensor spots when they could have very easily relocated the sensor by drilling a hole and mounting it, wouldn’t have taken them long to do this. For the amount of money we spent on it we expected better. We should not have had to find a way to secure this ourselves the day before our trip. So yes we have our reasons, and we are not suggesting to buy a bumper with the tire carrier on it as there isn’t anything quality out right now unfortunately. Because of this we don’t recommend the company who did ours. That being said, we don’t want to call them out either by name dropping them. I hope this brings more clarity.
Amazing build. Keep in mind that when you get in the dust, which is everywhere in the west, it's going to be hell trying to keep everything livable. You might consider covering up the stuff in the bed before you go. Beautifully done.
That’s a really cool setup. You should be able to go anywhere you want with no problem. Maybe one day i will come from Texas and you could show me some Arizona wheeling.
Your not going to want to hear this but you would have to remove the belly plates and wrap the exhaust in heat wrap. If you don’t you will overheat the belly and melt air lines and possible electrical lines. The tape is sold at any auto parts place Napa, Advance Auto etc. good luck on your trip.
The one thing I was really interested in was your rear tire carrier. It sounds like you said it is not in production yet? Please provide a clearer detail on the unit, availability, rear camera relocate, etc. thanks.
Looks like you need the rear lower control arm frame side skid plates. I have the same scrapes on mine and seems like a really low mount. Just picked up some skids for it from Rusty's, can't wait to install them for some added protection.
Neither did we lol. Fact of the matter is, if there is someone who needs help, and we can provide that help.... Why not? It makes everyone's day better. Thank you, We cant wait to hit the trial.
I liked the skid plate until I saw the weight (240#), and really appreciate the honest critique about then holding in the heat, I live in So Tex. I don't think I like them much any more. Maybe they'll come out with aluminum and more venting.
Ya weight sux but to be honest now we not worried about smashing anything under our JT. But they should of added more vents to keep the under side cool
Very sweeet ride. The fridge set up looks like it might be inconvenient in the middle of making dinner. And the ARB compressor under the seat...the noise while running and the heat coming thru the floor effecting it???
Arb compressor isnt bad. Normally when we are airing up or down we are out talking story with people and as for the fridge, when we are camped and making dinner we have the tire carrier open which makes it easy to get to. We also have the dfg offroad fridge slide under the fridge so we can just slide it out
Our gladiator at the very beginning had its fair share of problems but after owning a jeep we understand what it’s a jeep thing means now it’s pretty cool having something that can pretty much go anywhere. But to be honest it really just comes down to what type of adventure you were looking for like a Overlander Toyota Tacoma will drive circles around the gladiator on the freeway and high-speed off-road but the gladiator can pretty much go anywhere the Tacoma can’t keep in mind we own a Tacoma too I love our jeep truck and we will continue putting it to its test so far we’re traveling to Colorado pulling a trailer loaded and she’s doing good
@@OverlandishAdventures Thanks for taking the time in replying to me, really means a lot. I have owned many brands and been with Jeep since the YJ days and currently on the JLU and JL. Jeep has come along way and the improvements I have seen since the YJ,TJ,JK to the JL has been really impressive. All makes have thier issues but its how they address the problem that makes or brake a person from sticking to the brand. My only concern was the engine on the JT, on the JLU and JL the engine is perfect for its size. But for the JT this is where I'm concerned. So i started searching for owners feedback and got confused even more 😆. As I want to replace the JLU with the JT as the added space with the bed is what I need. We only ran the Clayton springs in the back for a short time. We tried 2 different ones, but one was too soft and the other too hard. Right now we have Rusty’s springs, which seem to be the best option on the market right now. We are currently working with Jeremy with RK to run their air spring, which isn’t out yet
Can I ask a few questions? What are you using for a cb radio setup (is it good)? What is your lift and tire combo and are you still running factory axles? What is the brand of that water tank and how are you doing the pressurization set up on that? I ask cuz I want to build mine up almost the same as yours.
We do not use CB Radio, We use Ham or Two-Way, but that should have been in the video. Lift and all of that is covered in this video. Yes we still have factory axles. Yes we like our decked system , the things you put in it stay pretty clean. We use one side of it to store food ans stuff and the other side recovery gear ans tools. It keeps everything nice. Only wish is all this stuff we add to the truck was lighter :).
They are called limiting straps and they’re there so the springs don’t fall out of the truck when we flex the back has so much flex the springs were literally fall right out it’s a good thing and a bad thing the jeep truck still so new spring options are limited
NICE, Rig Having both ran bfg and nitto and toyo tires myself, nitto and toyo are more true to there size those 37s nittos you had are probably close to those 39 bfgs. Are you running stock axle shafts and driveshafts with those 39s?
Thanks very much for sharing your nice build! I’ve been researching a similar build, but continue to struggle with payload capacity. This is the case even with the MaxTow package. Any advice for how you're manage payload?
Like everything that you’ve done. Which iKamper model did you decide to get? I was looking at the iKamper mini for my Gladiator but now that I see the bigger one on your gladiator it looks good on top. It doesn’t seem to extend off the sides or the back.
Could you be a little more specific on the Clayton lift. Is it the 3.5" premium or overland plus? I'm really looking into the 3.5" premium and falcon 3.3s as well for my build. thanks
Any motor upgrades pertaining to performance? I know you are running an iDrive unit for the turbo lag but any software upgrades or chipping? Awesome walk around went back and watched the first rig rundown and damn the truck has morphed into a monster! Keep up the great vids. Mrs Overland , your better than ever!!
Beautiful truck😍. Y’all have a lot of what I’m looking to add aesthetic wise. Do you feel you got your money worth out of the readylift kit you had? After watching your video we opted for that kit to get us started.
Thank you for the comment. There was noting wrong with the ready lift kit it’s a good kit keeps the JT riding like stock. The biggest difference we see now is flex and we paid extra for the falcon 3.3 and they are def worth the money.
Just get a soft top, its that easy to get the whole roof off like that instead of just the front. Hard top sucks, just a pain and waste of $$$$ that can be spent on much needed upgrades.

The few times we have used it yes, however with our build we would have to have it on the driver side as our IKamper opens up on the other.
Doesn’t look like motobuilt has a bumper with tire carrier anymore t on the third website.
What suspension are you guys using
Rock krawler , they have the best options for Jt
Which switch controller? Couldn't hear? Also for some reason TH-cam doesn't have auto-caption for this video.
bit.ly/3rEKT06 aux-beam No problems with it at all.
@@OverlandishAdventures Thanks!
NICE, Rig
Having both ran bfg and nitto and toyo tires myself, nitto and toyo are more true to there size those 37s nittos you had are probably close to those 39 bfgs.
Are you running stock axle shafts and driveshafts with those 39s?
Rcv axles shafts and adams drive shafts are the way to go pricey but ,worth every cent spent
Yes stock axels still. We will be upgrading after we do engine
SEXY RIG . BE BLESSED .
Where can buy the DFG sliders?
www.dfgoffroad.com. Tell them mr & Mrs Overlander sent ya. They should take care of you
@@OverlandishAdventures I have the 50qt ARB and Decked system in the bed of JT- how do you fasten slider onto decked top????
Thanks very much for sharing your nice build! I’ve been researching a similar build, but continue to struggle with payload capacity. This is the case even with the MaxTow package. Any advice for how you're manage payload?
Clayton springs are nice , doesn’t sag when loaded. We have changed a bunch of things around since this build
Do you struggle with keeping your fridge and other items in your truck bed protected from the rain/bad weather etc?
Not at all. It doesn’t get direct rain 🌧 on we have had no problems with rain
So why change from ReadyLift? And how often do you use Lockers?
Like everything that you’ve done. Which iKamper model did you decide to get? I was looking at the iKamper mini for my Gladiator but now that I see the bigger one on your gladiator it looks good on top. It doesn’t seem to extend off the sides or the back.
We got the skycamp 2.0 it extends a little bit not bad
Mrs overlander, mrs overlander wants to ask if the tire hanger brand is from mopar
Great rig walk around 👍. I have a slew of questions regarding your build, maybe to long to post here... 😂.
If you have questions ask on patreon or Facebook. We are traveling so give us time to reply
Is the duel battery system worth it? Should I do this right away or wait?
Right a way or right when you start to do your build. I def would recommend it
What size is that power tank? 15lbs?
Do you have a link for the tire carrier?
Custom Built, I would NOT recommend them..
Could you be a little more specific on the Clayton lift. Is it the 3.5" premium or overland plus? I'm really looking into the 3.5" premium and falcon 3.3s as well for my build. thanks
We went with the overland plus. Nice kit. Call over to Clayton tell them we sent us for discount !
Hole in the rock trail - Utah
Been there went with litebtite
Can you share the model of your Switch Controller and the model of the mount on the handlebar for the controller?
The switch controller is from Auxbeam , they only make two, for the mount , I forgot where we got that
What did you do with your take off fenders?
Gave them away on our patreon for free
Should I get a wrangler or a gladiator I really want both.
Depends on what you want to do with each: both are good
Any motor upgrades pertaining to performance? I know you are running an iDrive unit for the turbo lag but any software upgrades or chipping? Awesome walk around went back and watched the first rig rundown and damn the truck has morphed into a monster! Keep up the great vids. Mrs Overland , your better than ever!!
We just supercharged out JT, and the only thing I can say is we wished we did it sooner, and thank you we appreciate your support
how much for the whole build. excluding the truck
No clue we stopped counting.
Mr & Mrs Overlander thanks! Have fun out there!!

Just get a soft top, its that easy to get the whole roof off like that instead of just the front. Hard top sucks, just a pain and waste of $$$$ that can be spent on much needed upgrades.
Crater Lake Oregon
Come to hecksher state park in long island ny we would to meet you and the 🛻
So how tall is this lift? And how tall are the tires?
We are sitting about 3 1/2 Front and 4 1/2 Rear, sits level when loaded up. Tires are 39s
@@OverlandishAdventures Dear Lord From the video it looks like a dang 6 inch lift! Are you on stock gearing?
How much does it weight?
Not sure, but too much..
Nice rig.
