Trying this tonight! Looks so tasty. I love seafood and make fish all the time, but never made mahi mahi. I bet this is delicious! I'll update with how it tastes!
Awhile ago, I noticed six fish in a row at Ports of Call California-the seller tried convincing me, to try this delicatessen, "that the palate of your mouth feels the savory taste. It looks scrims hews but looks can be disheveling. But, look at the pictures, it looks classy. Lisa
I am useless when I cook fish because it always burns. I want to try this recipe so can u tell me if the stove is on medium or hot ? Looks really good !
I used to have a hard time with too… now i just get the sear i want in the pan and finish it the oven, always checking with a thermometer…can mess it up
No bread! It has zero nutritional value! I’m making this for the first time just now, and I made your black pepper chicken this week, which my husband went crazy over! Thank you for your delicious recipes, Dave!
Is olive oil safe for pan frying? Olive oil made up of mostly monounsaturated fat (about 75%) which helps stabilize it and stand up to higher heat. The smoke point of olive oil is 410 °F (210 °C), which is ideal and safe for frying.
@@orionshockley9344 They don't use kosher salt in Europe and food there tastes just fine... It's a tax on our food in Aamerica, mostly, all other countries don't pay Orthodox Unions or the like to certify food and their food tastes just as good and is just as healthy...
Kosher salt is like a lightest and softest flavor and has more diferent minerals, table salt has too much sodium and if you add too much you can ruin the dish
I made this tonight with your instruction and it was so damn good! Thank you!

Careful with mercury poisoning. Eat fish in moderation!
@@ihfafa mahi mahi is generally safe since they grow so fast and live short lives.
I tried it exactly how you said...definitely overcooked the fish....but I used a cast iron pan so that may have been the issue
With a fish that thinly sliced I think it would have been perfect without the oven time
The cast iron is exactly why you overcooked it lol 2-3 mins max on each side at med hi heat
awesome recipes ❤ Thank you for sharing. Big like with all best wishes for you dear friend ❤🌹👌😋stay blessed ❤please be connected 🤝❤🇴🇲
Yum!!

It says cook cigh
I cook my mahi on low to medium just to make sure I don't burn the hell out of it and it works every time.
I used to have a hard time with too… now i just get the sear i want in the pan and finish it the oven, always checking with a thermometer…can mess it up
Is it 3 minutes per side then move to baking dish or just one side then finishes other side in oven?
No just the 3 minutes per side in pan. Fish cooks very quickly
Can you leave the skin on
Yes
Start it skin side down, don’t flip until the skin releases from pan

Forget the music.
Chef, what?
YOU FLASH QTY FOR 1-2 SEC ONLY! WHY???
Olive oil is the worst oil to fry in. It has a low smoke point. Follow your own advice and don’t move the fish around once you put it in the pan.
They have different types of olive oil for different cooking methods
Or you could just not use olive oil at all. ALL olive oil has a lower smoke point than many other choices of oils.
I got this. GO AWAY
Use ghee butter, screw oil

Why kosher salt, what’s the difference from regular salt… I guess promoting the kosher tax on our food...
Regular salt with iodine can put a flavor on food that throws it off. Most chefs around the world, if not all, use kosher salt because of this.

@jay23cr ahh yes, Maldon sea salt. They don't add iodine to it. I imagine that would taste just as good as kosher salt.
Larger grains are easier to see and add some crunch but that’s all. An equal weight of sea salt is just as good. Skip paying the rabbis.

Would be a good choice of fish as the protein for a piccata dish with pasta?
