My friend, how you can check that stevedores will load exactly 57% in Cargo Hold N 4? There is no marking inside Cargo Hold for checking volume loaded. Or you just believe stevedores and never check?

What we are trying to do here is to prepare a Preliminary stowage plan or a Pre Stow plan. The pre stow plan tells us the Optimum quantities with which each hold should be loaded in order for the shop to arrive at a certain draft and trim.
Now coming to your question that how to determine that stevedores will load exact quantity in a certain cargo hold (say 57% in cargo hold 4 as said by you above).
This will be determined by observing the drafts at each stage of completion when the cargo is being actually loaded on ship. The duty officer / cargo officer will prepare a stage wise loading sequence which shall be tendered to terminal.
If the loading operation is going on as per planned, the calculated and the observed values of trim and draft shall be quite similar to the one that is observed in actual.
If not, then surely there exists a problem with the loading quantities ( assuming that the deballast quantities are determined correctly)
Thankfully, our next video is on loading sequences. Hope you will have a better clarity then. Stay tuned

    Hello Sir,
Can you please a make video/ or tell in brief about Bulk Carrier Alternate Hold Loading. Whether it is permitted Yes or No.? If yes, then which ships are permitted to do so & where will we get this information onboard ship that we can do so ( plans or Manuals or any specific certificate mentioning it).
Refrence to Chapter 12 Reg.14 is not a sufficient answer, as surveyor wants us to have some detailed knowledge about it.
    Thank you.
