- In today's adventure I'm exploring a massive abandoned mansion. Unaware of the horrors that took place here. After exploring we spoke to locals about the history of this amazing building, and they believe that the English family living here in Belgium, were all murdered.
Such an emotional explore, knowing now that the kids that lost there life to a intruder, and knowing this story was covered up!!...

What is wrong with people. Don't keep destroying history. Some of us would love to have just a few of these items to protect.
The depths of depravity that a person must have to break in and vandalize ( not you Dave ) a home where a family was murdered is beyond my comprehension. There some sick people in this world, and the scary part is...they walk among us.
God help us all.
Unless a lot of the damage was done while they were attacked...Maybe, he just didn't know they whole story!! Sure some could be vandalism; but he hadn't at the time known they were murdered...That changes the narrative on how to look at the extent of damage to the house now...Now why were they murdered?What were they after? Did they get it from the house? Or was it personal? I have so many questions!!!!! I need answers 😩

Incredible place. I'm assuming that there is no family in England to come recover their personal belongings. Or, maybe, since the police covered the murders up, they didn't notify next of kin...Please do a revisit, now that you know the back story, this family deserves to have their life documented since they ended so tragically. Good luck with you operation.
I just don't see signs of murder anywhere.. All beds still in their places, could they have met their end in another place?? And been unable to return to this home.. Or maybeee just aged out and family didn't return for items??

If it's from the 80's it's nearly 40 years old now. I think we just don't think of it as being very old while we try to hold on to our youth. :)

Oh yeah, a 'car accident'. (My butt) A hospital was less then 10 min away but she was only brought there after she was dead. Then the story of how the driver was drunk and blame it on the news media. Nothing else to see here folks.

Maybe the folks that lived in that beautiful home found out something like that, something to expose some wealthy person and in order to keep themselves in power they had the father/mother, family silenced.

I think this was mostly a multi-generational home. The grandparents, parents and kids at one point. So many very old boxes, powders, and medicinal items Let's not forget to mention they more than likely had servants. If both parents perished the kids would have likely been too young to inherit and needed to be cared for. If they had no relatives they would be placed with someone. The estate is probably in a trust for the children until they become of age.
Yeah some children might have been in boarding school if it wasn't Christmas holidays, wonder if the children were killed too, can't be that many murdered would have hit major headlines.
Then why not put the furniture and valuables in storage ? Why leave them in situ and risk them being stolen or damaged ? Or at least employ a security guard to patrol the grounds.

@@alyson6014 unfortunately there would have to be a provision in the will if found to hire someone and pay them. someone to pay storage fees ect. if the kids are all the family left they would be to young to decide or even have access to the place. If the estate is in probate it could take a long time. the laws are really weird sometimes.

Another great video, but felt so sad seeing those family photos and the childrens toys, what a truly tragic story.
As a grandma, seeing the childrens' toys and books just left really upset me, they must have been precious to them

This was a great location, it's to bad there are no relative's to come and pick up all the stuff in the house or at least redo the house. It really is a shame that it's all sitting there being vandelized. Sounded like a cry in the basement and there was a few other noises as well. What a wonderful explore. NOT A MURDER HOUSE !!!!!...... 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 Today I'm exploring a neoclassical-style castle in Belgium, dating back from the 19th century. In 1838 a Belgian merchant and politician bought its ground and initially only built a hunting pavilion. 10 years later, he decided to build the actual castle. That same year, he was appointed mayor of the town. He and his wife, a viscountess, remained childless and after their death, all their properties ended up in the hands of their superintendent. When the loving couple passed away, he took up their permanent residence in the castle. In 1914 the castle fell into German hands. The forest around the castle was then transformed into a junction of defenses with trenches and barbed wire fences. The castle itself became a care center for the wounded. During the final offensive in 1918, the castle was reclaimed but did not emerge unscathed. Today, a noble British family owns the castle, but sadly enough they barely look after a property with such a rich history and essence for the village anymore.

This place is so huge and absolutely gorgeous. I guess the whole family lived there with the bed count there were quite a few. Saddened by the damage done by others but you can still see the beauty. Hi Dave, I'm wondering if the tragic even occurred in that huge dining room as on the floor there is an area that is different to the rest of the flooring it's to the right of the chairs at 12:57. With so many beds, do you think it could have been used as a Human trafficing house. Out in the country kinda by itself. Lots of little childrens things. ? Remember that video if buckungham Palace, where an Asian boy was climbing naked down some sheets before he fell from the top windows.

@@marleneppaul Looks like it was once a family home, then maybe it could have been used for something else. You know after the old folks died off, the adult children could have let other family use it. So they didn't pack up any of the belongings In real detail. Because with some of the old furnture that was in there. The beds that are just not part of a set look out of place. And just placed anywhere they could put them. You know some of that stuff looked like the family may have had money, but some of the stuff like some of the couches didn't look exspences. .. Well that's just an idea. And that would make sense if people where murdered in that place. And the cops don't want the surrounding area to know it was a trafficing home.
That's what I said. It checks all of the boxes for it!
And that basement seems like they would drug kids and hunt them.
@@missimoppet Interesting thought. Looks like there are a lot off beds, that don't have matching dressers. Not that everyone has that kind of stuff. ( I don't ) but when you see the beds pit every where. And most look to be twin beds ( or single beds ) where couples Would not be in a room with other couples, they would want their space to be alone. We can see the place belonged to a single family at one time. But , perhaps not any more. And someone used it for a traffic home , for a while. Perhaps the older parents died, and the some of the older adult kids, long moved away on their own & the place was used by other Not So Good family, member, a cousin, grandchild or someone like that. They left the family personals alone, and the kids most would be drugged anyways. So they done excape. Etc.....
It's just a tragic and no one knows exactly what exactly happened you know but the the place is gorgeous been abandoned and 10 years and no one's there no children no people know nothing you know what exactly happens

I didn't get any of the stoory of murder. Did I just miss it? When I try to watch explorer videos, I'm constantly interrupted, so it's possible. I thought I saw the duck on the hall table where you picked up the candleholder, but it's hard to be sure. I'm glad to hear you'll be having your surgery and gain some relief from your sinus issues. Dave, I had my whole family watching your videos on Thanksgiving! My grandma especially loved seeing all the antique furniture. My aunt said "this man looks yummy, I wanna gobble him up like I'm fixing to do with this turkey!" 🤭🤭My uncle was amazed at the craftsmanship of the houses, some he could tell wasnt the original walls/wallpaper and some he could say a round about date of when they were built. It was a very memorable Turkey day!! 💜

A beautiful house. The forest you could see from the window makes me think this might have been used as a hunting lodge in shooting season. That may explain all the beds. Sad story though of the family. Thank you so much for this explore.

Hi Dave! 1st I hope that even though there was a cover up that they found whoever murdered this family,its sad that a family had been murdered then there was a cover up but then someone comes into there home & vandalize it.its just wrong 😔🤨 I wonder if they had been sleeping & been woken up & brought down to the basement then murdered there 🤔 maybe the kids were sleeping & the parents were getting ready to go to bed when they were attacked.with the cry in the basement im thinking this is where they were murdered. I believe the guy was an antique dealer and the damaged picture and other damages was from someone looking for the safe when they were killed.

regarding the crucifix & skull =
The single skull with a pair of crossed bones became a common feature of crucifixes. It represented the grave of Adam, the name Calvary, and the victory of Christ over death.

Loved this video but I could feel the sadness while watching it and I heard the sounds in the basement. Well I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again people that go into the homes and trash it are not explorers they are nothing more than punks
The house is very creepy ,can you imagine sleeping there ,you wouldnt evan kniw anybody got inside etc .
Security system, I seen 1 camera outside on the corner in the begging, But that basement gives me the creeps, I would brick it up!

I absolutely love your content. But it makes me sooo sad also. The people vandalizing and ransacking the house don't get that it was someone's HOME. Not just a house. All the memories and story behind the house made me a bit weepy.... Love how you handle everything with respect in there!
