  • In this video I attempt to make a Tongue Drum from 2 cheap steel woks. This is tuned to D Minor (Kurd).
Not much info on the internet for wok conversion so there was a lot of guesswork involved.
    Enjoy.

Well Jon you have gone up in my estimation, while watching you playing your Tounge Drum I imagined you in an Hawaiian shirt with palm trees in the distance and water lapping at the shoreline and perhaps some long golden locks flowing down over your shoulder’s, good job pal maybe a tubula bells album is next 🕺💃🍻

Thanks for that link Jon, enjoyable to watch, my woks won’t be made into musical instruments, one’s Stainless. So Scrap. the other is going to be an ironing aid for my T shirts, helps to get that form fit just right .

Propane tanks work well! You might like working with those better! Great that you got so many notes that actually sounded like notes….I’ve heard way worse for first tries! And played altogether, you had a good little beat going on! Now that the first one is under your belt, you should try it with a propane tank. And look at single or double slits on the tongues to get a duo tone and tritone effect, The Hydrodip is …..by the way ….. gorgeous!!!! 🤗….🛸🎶….🦋
