    I just "discovered" your second channel at 2:17am and I am delighted by this video.
    I absolutely love this project and the aesthetically beautiful instrument you created. The patina is marvelous and adds to the visual appeal.
    I lean into such "accidents" and have dubbed them "Fortuitous Opportunities" as so very many of such "accidents" have given me incredibly positive experiences/results than I would have otherwise enjoyed.
    For instance, if a waiter mishears me and arrives at my table with an item I did NOT order/would NEVER have chosen to order...I do NOT take them up on the offer to replace the item with the dish I wished to eat. It seems wasteful and nonadventurous to do so. I invariably embrace such honest mistakes and have consequently introduced myself to phenomenal new sensations.
    It works with forging new connections with strangers. I get a feeling that I should break my typical routine...and in almost every situation...an incredibly delightful conversation ensues.
    It's a wonderful gift to perceive mistakes in this way.
    This drum is both beautiful and functional. You're a genius.
    Love both channels!

    Wholesome af. Tuning is G major pentatonic, a very good choice. Love that you included a PD racer shot too.

    • @LostWax2
      @LostWax2  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I wasn't sure if the tuning would work out, I noticed that there didn't seem to be many drums tuned in that key when I was looking online and wondered if there was a reason for that, but it sounds alright to me. Thanks for watching!

      Yes, or grind off a little on the end of the tongue to make it thinner.

    make a plug for the bottom hole from thermal plastic, its what i did, when the hole is open, it resonates more, with a more tinny sound, i prefer it with the plug in, i find its better to cut a hold, and use a soft plug, i made mine out of silicone in the end, it seems to dampen some of the high end off the drum, and you get more of the low end notes, so good idea to cut the bottom hole, and use some sort of soft plug, and then you have the best of both worlds really.

    • @LostWax2
      @LostWax2  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm, that's really interesting. Mind me asking how you made your silicone plug?

    • @Vei2aC
      @Vei2aC ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LostWax2 hey there man, not a problem at all, the hole i made 80mm, big enough to put my hand in so i can place magnets to change tunings, i made up a pipe that is 81mm, and on the bottom of the pipe, i made a collar to go over the 81mm pipeon the bottom, making a lip of about 2mm on the bottom of the plug, hot glued it to a nice flat base, sprayed it with mold releace, and done a silicone poor, making a plug about half an inch in depth, i have a pan i bought, and just looked at the plug it came with, and made my mesurments from there, also, if your pan rings alot, or has that tinny sounds after sounding notes, you can add some foam tape on the inside, it will dampen certen spots, and take away some of the annoiying high end wine, two woks also work great for making slit pans, you can fine tune them verry well with a jewellers saw, and a ott 0/6 blade, watching your vid, give me an idea to make a water udu out of a propane tank, maybe a vid for you, i hope this will help you out, if you would like to know anything els, pick my brain for more, then be my guest, really enjoiying your vids, keep up the energy Mr, top man, thank you verry much =].

    You can purchase depressurizer plugs for cylinders. Of course, if you make a drum without the danger of BOOMING DEATH IN FIERY BLOOD AND BODY PARTS I'd have to say the drum will end up lifeless and uninteresting because no JUJU went into its making :B
