My one year old just woke up with a ‘night terror’ and will probably be screaming for 20 minutes or so. While I hold him in the living room, I was thinking “what can I watch that I don’t need to listen to?” since a human being cannot hear anything over a child scream. Well…enter the crazy Australian melty boy. Cheers from Iowa in the United States.
When I had night terrors as a kid of a monster in my closet, my parents told me to use a gun and shoot the monster in my dream. I didn't much care about guns at that age, so I decided I would use a hot glue gun to glue the monsters feet to the floor. (doing all of this in my dream of course) So I did, and I never had that nightmare again
@@martywright1979 We are all groovy now. He finally stopped the screams and opened his eyes...I showed him his favorite little stuffed fox toy...he smiled, grabbed it, and passed out. Sleeping like a log with his mama again.
Man, I’ve been watching for about 5 years and have never been disappointed. Great stress relief, no talking, never religious or political, just melting metal. I look forward to Friday just for your videos
What a brilliant enclosure for the boys, they can see you working on a melt and know that you’re right there nearby to bring them healthy snacks from time to time. ❤️🐾
I have no clue how long everybody has been watching your channel but I'm just going to say that I'm really impressed to see how far you've come within the past two years keep it moving along brother
That vortex was AWESOME! That was SO COOL! Those floor sausages fooled us for a moment, weren’t sure just what they were… It’s nice to see the boys have room to run.
Thank you for including a measurement that us americans can understand. Until today i never knew how much a kilogram was but i have now learned that its about 3 cans of coke. You learn something every day
Maybe a helpful tip, I saw a guy having a torch blowing right above the mold and another torch blowing right into the crucible right before he starts poring. When he was done poring, he distinguished the torch right above the mold. This made sure everything flowed properly without anything left in the crucible and that there was a nice finish on the mold surfaces. Hope this helps . Love the content! 🔥🖤🔥🖤🔥🖤🔥
Awesome vid, loved the smoke/fire vortex. New place looks amazing too man, congrats to you on that! Although I think the pups don't like they can see you but can't get through that invisible wall lol.
I so love the boys having fun and playing around in the yard 😀 I bet they're just a joy to have around. I liked how the melt went and You're right, that was ceramic that was left from the melting.
“I think I’m feeding this one too much.” Sir. Sir. This is the Magpie Mob we’re talking about. If you stop feeding them, swooping season is going to begin early.
Floor sausages "dragged through the garden" (as they say in my area) beats what I had for lunch today. I just can't beat the culinary skills of D, and the melts are pretty good too😁
i am sure the bits in the slag are not cement but are actually made from ceramic, ceramic has a high hardness and not prone to wear so your taps will never leak. cheers for the vids
Your Yard is absolutely awesome! It is so peaceful. Your new site for your forge will be great location. It's good to see your little buddies home with you❗️
Just getting ready to curl up in bed and I started thinking about what to watch. You popped into my head (oddly I was washing my hands looking at the tap thinking about what metal it is) and here you are. 37 mins ago. Thanks :)
cheers for the super thanks Stu I really appreciate it buddy. Have yourself an awesome weekend and I’ll keep an eye out for any of your future comments👊🏻😁
The skulls where the new tank were cool and think it be awesome to see you make full size skulls in every metal u have in the vault and have melted in the past. One of each to make a full shelf of just them.
Man, less than 100 kgs to go. Those are absolute works of art, and likely valuable recycled resources to businesses that could use the metal. I'm excited to see what your plan is with them, whether you decide to keep going or sell it all and start from scratch, I know I'm eagerly going to continue watching and enjoying what you do.
Yeah Once I’m set up properly in the shed I’ll have all my old numberplates and pictures and bits and pieces up so it will be quite similar to the garage soon hopefully. I just show a lot of the background here as I’m sure people were sick of the suburban look👍🏻
I love the little smoke vortexes. I wonder why they happen when no air is being forced in to make them do it. Maybe residual air currents from when the gas was running?
As the heat is a vortex inside the Furnace chamber one side of the furnace is gonna be cooler than the other so once the burner is turned off and as it slowly cools one side will be a little bit lower in temperature so will create its own natural vortex with the air and smoke if that makes sense🤔
Hello, boys! 💛 🐾🖤🐾 ZOMGGGG, ONE POUND...😲 We're here, everyone, here to see the goal met and exceeded. Every week for years he's put up a video for us, and now after not only all the work with the metal melts and castngs but with the outstanding video production quality as well, the milestone is mere 16oz/2.2kgs away. WOOO! 🇦🇺
New place looks AMAZING!!! 😍😍😍 Cannot wait for the new melting area. So everything after that is officially finished right? 😁😁😁💙💙💙💜💜💜 Nice ass bars though! Yes! Can't wait to see what everyone shipped you! Lotta technically HOLIDAY gifts. 🙃🙃🙃🤙🤙🤙
I've always undertood to 'pre-heat' the crucible a couple of minutes by warming it up on lowest temp setting on the furnace to avoid cracking. Worth a shot?!
One more pound for a US ton. Only 99 kgs to go for your goal. Holy crap..... Thanks for the discount on the furnace, and all of the helpful info. Going to make a great x-mas gift.
"The Birds love the sound of the forge" Me: those birds are more intelligent than some humans! Maybe they're watching you to learn our humanly metalworking secrets!
It appeared that the taps had some water still inside.... Did you have to do anything to prep these pieces that still had water trapped? You have indicated that this is a concern when melting brass casings... I am just curious. :)
I really love how you show everything, I've learned a ton just watching your videos. I'll be starting up in a few weeks after the snows gone so I can get to my stash. You show the gauge with Mpa we use Kpa/psi here.
It almost seems like it would be worth it to get a gas line run to your barn. You could get one of those nozzles that go on laboratory tables to hook to.
hej bigstackD, i have question, when you say "use respirator to work with brass" you think about gas mask with bottle of AIr or oxy, or You think about mask only with filters absorbers like 3M 6051 class A1, because i have problem with translate this:)

I started watching in like 2018 or 19. Lots of growth. Never gets old.
Have been watching since... about 480kg of stack, i guess 😅
That grill burner start up at 11:45 is super smooth and downright therapeutic in how satisfying it is.
That vortex was AWESOME! That was SO COOL! Those floor sausages fooled us for a moment, weren’t sure just what they were…
It’s nice to see the boys have room to run.
Aww nice to see the boys running around a big space and they can see you melting from a distance ☺️. Nice bars! 👍
Fridays are never complete without a BigstackD video.
A coffee, a donut and Big's video... the best way to start Friday!
Highly polished brass is as beautiful as gold in my humble opinion. Nicely done.
