Trae is the most overrated player in the league. He's still a terrible defender. Dyson Daniels makes up for his weaknesses. He's terrible at attacking the basket. He's the all time turnover per game leader. ALL TIME! Dead last among thousands over nearly a century. Look at how great the Hawks Roster is. Their deep. DeAndre Hunter is coming off of their bench, They should be a top 3 team in the east. They are a 500 team in the weak east. If the Hawks had traded Trae, and kept Murray, they would be a defensive nightmare.

His +- show how much he's impacting the team. Hawks are very mid team, however this season they show some improvements. Especially getting dyson in a trade and improvement from Jalen Johnson

Edwards reminds me of an interview that I saw with MJ back in the day. When MJ set the record for 3 pointers in an NBA finals game, it blew everyone's mind. He did that on purpose just to prove a point because the narrative was that Clyde was better because he shot more 3's. In the interview after the finals game, MJ was asked why he doesn't shoot more 3's since he has it in his bag. He said that it would make him less effective. Edwards is proving MJ right. He's shooting more 3's, a much better percentage, and scoring less.

Trae has been vastly overlooked and under-rated for almost his entire career. He’s never been given quality teammates to work with. So far in his career-the best teammates that he’s been able to play with have been John Collins and Dejounte Murray. Compare that to Luka (who was drafted the same year)-who has played alongside Porzingis, Brunson, and Kyrie Irving. Look at Dejounte Murrays stats from last year vs this year. He was averaging 7 more points per game and was shooting percentage was almost 9% higher playing alongside Trae. While Trae does have some holes in his game-his ability to control pace, to get his teammates good shots, and to play with confidence and swag is solid. Atlanta fans were crazy for turning on him.

No suprise at all that he shine in utah, first time he was able to show same things what he has been doing in our national team long before he went to utah.
Reason why he do now less is simple, utah try to lose games as much they possible can. They put Lauri on the court with rookies and/or second year player guards. There is Sexton who is good but rest guards are pretty much garbage. Keyonte George never will be positive player in any nba team. Ever. And he get most minutes. Put Lauri on the court with good guards (like Conley was) and you see pretty fast how good lauri actually is. He is real star and nothing confusing abt it for those who actually know what has been going on his previous years and now.

I won't criticize Lauri, he's regressed a bit this year, but he's been balling out the past two. In both seasons he came out the gates storming, the Jazz were winning even though they were rebuilding, then they blow it up to tank more and sit on the fence with Lauri, for two years in a row. His value was insane two years ago because of his contract, but they refused to commit to either building around him OR trading him. You have to pick one or the other, it was utterly stupid to wait for an overpay when there was NOTHING to gain from waiting. Because of that, they were FORCED to sign him to a max they didn't want to give him, otherwise he would've walked for nothing at the end of the season.
Ya, I don't blame him at all, the org showed absolutely zero respect for him or his desire to win even when he was playing like a legit star. Preferably, an athletic center and good sized 3 and ds from shooting guard, small forward, and power forward. Hopefuly, Morant's head is in a better place and he can still improve to superstar level. Markanen is playing in a team that does not care about winning. Besides, his role is also determined by the coach and organization. Ant Edwards's ego and mouth is failing him. He benefited greatly from KAT's shooting and passing, but now that KAT is gone, Ant should have made improvements to his own game. He also has not developed his passing to the point that his teammates, especially Randle and Gobert, can contribute better offensively.

@@nydibs 1: Celtics entire system is just getting easy 3's because they have great shooters and just out talent everyone hard. They're #1 in the East and current defending champs so why would we complain?
2: Curry is the greatest shooter ever and literally the entire Warrior's system is around his shooting
3: Spurs were literally worst team in the League last season. Wemby is in year #2 and Pop wants to develop his shooting because he'll be unstoppable when he finds his spots due to how tall he is. Conversely the Spurs went from dead last in 2023-2024 to middle of the standings this year. Even if the Spurs suck this is good for his development, but they' don't get they're actually a mid tier team now.
Ant is taking too many because it is not his strength and his driving and being a menace inside opens the door to his team being able to score. Defenses are forced to collapse on him but not so much anymore. Defenses don't get tired without having to collapse on Ant and this makes the game harder for everyone. And subsequently, the Wolves went from 55+ wins to a middle tier team now. Now ofc Ant's shooting isn't the only reason but is a factor. The other factor is losing KAT's spacing for Julius Randle who is an offensive black hole also screws up everyone's game, especially Rudy's.

A lot of Goberts inconsistency on the offensive end this year is a direct result of Ant and the t-wolves not attacking the basket as much.
