Love my 90 Puma (as we know them as in South Africa) really fun to drive and anyone thinking of getting one should get it sooner rather than later. You're not living life till you do. You've only one life after all!
I think it is a reflection of how soft vehicles are today that people reckon the Defender is 'hard to drive' or requires effort. It requires love, dedication, focus, guts, concentration and skill; as driving a legend should require. I agree other cars are far less challenging; but they have no soul.
This guy is a tosser. There must be something wrong with the 48 steering if he says its heavy! I did see it has tons of play, obviously needs attention!
Just watching this again, for chassis 138 it has incorrect seat backs, the badge should have red lettering not yellow. The soft top should have hoops on the side not cleats.
i own one of the first 110's ever made, only 50 came with fairey free wheeling hubs infront cause of no power steering, mine has this option,1983 is the production year. Also in all of the other 110's and defenders i ever saw,my low range is located down ↓ on the range selector, while all others are located up ↑
The 2.2 litre in the special one and all defenders from 2006 had those engines which are made in Dagenham, England. Used in ford transit vans and ford mondeos.
Not seen many Defenders on this side of the pond (North East, US) until recently. Fascinated by the means Edd China turned a 90 farm (aka station) mud plugger into a Chelsea Tractor. Thanks for a great video.
Heritage edition? because LR know there won't be a replacement. Electric windows on a Defender, you must be mad, the less electronics the better, all electronic LR/RRs have big problems.
1:14 what was the specific specs of that LandRover? I want to do an insurance check to see weather I can afford it. Thanks for the help if you drop the name below.
Land rovers were built using mainly car mechanicals, as only originally intended to be a stop gap, until car production ramped up. No money being available post war, Rover used what was available. Hence it is more car than anything else!
One of my dad's friends has a series 1 land rover and he made it 100% better by doing one simple thing... replacing the engine with a much better Isuzu engine.
@@nathanjack9359 He still has the car, with the same engine and he still loves it. He takes good care of it and will NEVER let it fall in to the wrong hands. Whatever people do to their cars is up to them and he did something which made his car better and that's all that matters. It's not your car and it's not any Land Rover enthusiasts car. The fact that it is still on the road and still making its owner smile is super important. At least it isn't rotting away.
How many of you are aware of the fact that there aint such thing as a LRover engin. LR allways contract other manufacturer to produce its engins, Leyland, Ford, BMW are some of them that provided engins over the years
Land Rover - The first family car purchased by my grandmother in the 1960s ,,, and the first Jeep proved to be efficient in the GCC.

Couldn't agree more
... you said every thing that needed to be said... how sweet to hear from another person... thanks.

beautiful vehicle. Love these old 4x4s. I have an FJ40 and I can't stop thinking about the next time I get to drive it.
Same, I have a Suzuki Jimny, but I can't stop thinking to replace it with a defender. Jimny is so trouble free and I am looking for trouble I guess ;)
Wow that Series 1 was 21 when I was born and it's still going strong . ✌️😉🇬🇧
Is a 1970 land Rover defender better than a 1977 Toyota fj 40
@@AlejandroP1980s Defender was from 1990 onwards, nothing before that was a Defender.
1970 was the second to last year of Series IIA production.
what a great car that was, my uncle luckily got his hands on a pre-production 1948 Land Rover and a normal 1948 series 1(still in pieces though)
Update??
Chevrolet cruze 2

querança de leite em santa casa da minha avó

Land Rover yes yes yes my family favourite.
LR Defender and series 1 is my favorite vehicle
I have a S2a and for years our family 'car' was a 12 seater Defender. My diminutive wife lived driving it. Hard to drive, pah!
My dream car.....
Don’t dream, buy one if you can. Best car I’ve ever had.
Reallly nice vid, If I win the lottery, for sure first thing I bought was the Heritage. Would be a nice daily driver next to my SIII. :)
Your landrover is very nice 👍 👌

Great upload and vid thanks ,shame about the continuous hideous "music noise " though

Can we get to buy the land rover vehicle
2019 still waiting on that new defender...
Elliot Smith your going to be shocked, it’s the opposite of a defender. It’s a real tata shitbox
Don't bother unless you are one of the supermarket off roaders that it will be aimed at. Oh look, its 2020 and its here!
Its a fail. They butchered it.
Landrover ya Safari!

Roger Hudson the new defender prototype is the complete opposite of a defender
Hard to drive ? Just don't see it. It's the coolest vehicle . The most fun vehicle. With power steering abs brakes .
Comfort?
i bow want to go to africa and go on a sifari in one of those
I will buy me a Defender!
... hate the replacement of the old door handles.

We should find out in 2016/2017...although many think that production will continue in india and small scale suppliers in the UK
DUDE PLEASE STOP CALLING A LAND ROVER A CAR , CALL IT LAND ROVER , SUV OR TRUCK BECAUSE IS MORE A TRUCK THAN A CAR
Not anymore
but the old school still are i know the new school suck

and by doing that he has ruined what is now a very rare motor.
Well it's his car, he can do what he wants with it.
Lispy Joe Of course he can.It doesn't stop him being an idiot however
Pity but he must not open his hood in front of die hards

This guy has never owed a Land Rover,. Would not last a minute.
great review! where was this filmed?
+gsh0ck3d Blue Mountains National Park, great lookout over the Nepean River at the end of the road. At Glenbrook off the Great Western Highway
Absolutely!,,,i just love everything about the review...i just have to say kudos!
Review the 2020 one 😶

The review is pointless if you don't take it offroad...
So sad to think i sold m'y séries 2a, Just to please m'y then girlfriend
Sorry iv done that but I got a plan😂
cá vai tomar no Brasil é o 8fnnojj
That was interesting yet pointless. These cars were built to go off-road. So go find the same cars with which you can have fun in the dirt...
