Shoulders. Ain't that the truth. Always sore from swinging weapons. I have to modify a lot of my weight work in the gym otherwise it's overkill. Great scapula and shoulder drills there, I need to add some of that.
I love these vlogs Paul, man are you living the good life!

I've come back to your channels after a roundabout route. I started with the Japanese jo and then via the hanbo and bo and silambam I explored the kali sticks before settling on the North West Chinese style of biangan. I recently came upon a Brunie short staff, the Tongkat, whose application I immediately related to. Your style with this bo is similar...but a little different, too. The tongkat is held further down the shaft and the combatant often uses the momentum of a strike to squat for upper cuts -- before seeking opportunities to grapple with the staff by pivoting it into the opponent's body and limbs. South East Asian/Pan Malay and Filipino martial arts are similar -- but given so many family variations/traditions -- but with various tactical approaches and styles.
Since I'm too old to go rolling on the ground, the longer staff -- the jo -- suits me fine and the tongkat approach does keep opponents at a distance (unlike the kali short sticks) .
Just saying: I think that staff length martial arts suits the more mature person wanting to do martial arts. Especially as it is readily paired with many tai chi gun styles for that extra excuse to slow down.
So I'm stuck in this stick hybrid --eclectically pinching bits from hither and yon.
Your drills -- 'anyo' -- are excellent and there are not enough of length available. The stick universe, I reckon, loves choreography.
