Its 00:15 am in Germany, i'm drunk and so Happy to watch this video! Watched every tutorial from u and every "okey so check it" makes me happy. Keep up the Most creative tutorials on TH-cam. Greetings from germany
wow, i can imagine a mans whole life through that melody, it starts out soft smooth and innocent gets more harsh and distorted, finally it becomes off tone and off beat then it all dies. this life is not dull or stupid, its a solid worth-living life with all the nuances a life should have
Its overkill sometimes, but I like to create an FX rack and put a couple of different 'texture' chains and an unprocessed chain in there, and mix to taste. Works especially well with the Resonator device and some distortion, where you want only some of your signal to carry that crunch and feedback-like tone.
nice tutorial! my favourite way of adding texture to a sound is pretty similiar. i use granular pitchshifters parallel to the original sound so there's something going on that doesn't fit to the original harmonics while still being based and directly reacting to them. it sounds a lot like a bitcrusher, but more dynamic with different notes
I would definitely recommend snagging the pack from Drum Beats Pt. 1. Play around with the way they sound with some auto filter, or whatever, and you'll be producing sweet low fidelity beats in no time.
Doktor K Yeah i tried out some of this stuff to good effect. Somehow i always missed out on cutting out the low end, and doing that immediately made a difference. I'd also recommend bitcrushing and reducing bit rate for your samples very slightly. Adding some vinyl noise helped too.
I suddenly feel very grown up. Thanks underbelly! And I just noticed that your songs are finally on Spotify, I added the songs to my playlists. Good stuff
something i've noticed with the "vinyl distortion" effect is that is plays constantly unless i mute the sound i have it attached to. is there any way to stop this from happening? it gets fairly annoying when when i am making a track
what I've done before (in fl studio but def possible anywhere) is sidechain my drums to a vinyl crackle sample, so that the compressor increases the volume of the crackle on each drum hit, but plays near silence when no drums play.
Dude, you gonna make me delete all my fancy plug ins & just use stock Ableton, so simple when you know why & how to use them. Any way to natively do tape emulation?
If I sign up for a private lesson will I be able to grow a beard like you, so I don't have to hide my smooth, innocent face under a mask. Please. I need a woman in my life...
i can confirm, since taking his private lessons my beard has grown thicker and more luscious, women have flocked to my neck and wrapped themselves around me like a human scarf.
What I think would be far more instructive texture-wise would be to talk about texture changes depending on your octave, you know, how the timbre is affected.
hello, thank you for the uncle joe stream. not since skratch piklz have i heard such freedom. beef hearted pain thresholds and stockhausen. finally evolved to genius!
Tbh, I believe this series is very good to complement what you're learning because it shows you how everything works by example. But you'll need some other resources in order to become a musician. how do you download minecraft texture packs?
go to epicgamercoolminecrafttexturepacksverynice.com
texture pack plugin audio fx rack redux chamber reverb delay
My beats were soft and innocent, after lessons with underbelly they're way more sinister and resigned. Plus my beard has great texture now.
thanks mr toast
lets remember that some uncle joes might prefer a smallboy with smooth, baby-like skin
very true

I never would have thought someone could legitimately combine instructional tutorial with humor. Bravo dude

So soft, so smooth, so innocent. Everything a modern women hates lmaoooo xDDD
I love that you used Oh Susanna for this.

You're the most underrated dad of all time!

...step dad
I can only watch you a certain amount of times in a day before i need to shower
Last week's live stream was life changing
I love you dude. You add something to the world not many can. Bro I'm cracking up.
Hey could you release a drum sample kit please? Also could you teach how to get that low fidelity quality to a beat?
I would definitely recommend snagging the pack from Drum Beats Pt. 1. Play around with the way they sound with some auto filter, or whatever, and you'll be producing sweet low fidelity beats in no time.
A slight low cut, a hefty high cut and some distortion. Pick samples with some natural crunch and noise.
Got the pack, it's pretty good. Thanks. :)

I had one more question though, should i low cut and high cut for every individual sample or should i do it on the master?
thumbs up if u want to see underbelly and based gutta do a video together
No idea how that would work but theyre both hilarious
would love to
Somebody hit up Based gutta we bouta make this shit live

You Suck at Producing Talk to him, it would be amazing

You're awesome Underbelly!

holy fuck that caught me off guard lmao
I love the analogy teaching style so much 😂

that's an interesting way to go about it. i'll give it a shot, thank you!
I just use on/off automation because there are times when I do want it to just keep playing.
Can't believe you got Tom Waits on your show
Dude, you gonna make me delete all my fancy plug ins & just use stock Ableton, so simple when you know why & how to use them. Any way to natively do tape emulation?
You are the best explaining this dude!!!!
I'm 30 seconds in and I already love this channel. LOL
The best part... It's royalty free.
I love this ! 😂You make producing fun and you remind me of bob Ross somehow 💫
You are a genius
i love this channel, good knowledge applied with humor! definitely underrated channel

If I sign up for a private lesson will I be able to grow a beard like you, so I don't have to hide my smooth, innocent face under a mask.
Please. I need a woman in my life...
yes
i can confirm, since taking his private lessons my beard has grown thicker and more luscious, women have flocked to my neck and wrapped themselves around me like a human scarf.
Women confirmed.
this is the most funny video I veer seen .. thanks cause I learned !
I'm gonna set a montage of my life to this video.
Are these the right sort of scissors for bacon?
Lmao I don’t even use Abelton. Your videos are so damn funny and I’m actually still learning so much.
Ableton is the bees knees. Especially if you use a lot of MIDI instruments. The work flow really can't be beat for lots MIDI stuff.
This is great content
Three lashes you say and a crushing of the bits? Got it.
What I think would be far more instructive texture-wise would be to talk about texture changes depending on your octave, you know, how the timbre is affected.
hard to generalize, different for every instrument
Absolutely brillant
Hahaha this was the most heteronormative production tutorial ive ever seen! Really ran with that small boy analogy there!
i feel like the whole purpose of the video was just you ranting about woman while also giving a lesson in music on the side xD
ur channel is one of my favorite 😁😂
3:16 Tom Waits impression?
3:00 this beat is wowzers
Damn he got all Tom Waits on us at the end
The bit when the pad changes to minor.. So fucking funny XD

It's stupid my favorite part every time is the into music
