    Nice one😍😍 quick tip:when cooking okro soup or any other slimy nigerian soup like ogbono,avoid covering the pot while it simmers or after cooking and it's still hot.when you cover the pot it reduces the 'goeyness' or sliminess of the okro in the soup,so most times the soup turns out runny or more watery than you would desire

    • @ceefade_athome
      @ceefade_athome  7 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Hey Anabelle! Thanks for the tip girl, i guess this explains why it didn't turn out very goey.. I'll definitely give it a try! Thanks, girl!!! :-)

    My father had a fishing company in Sapele and my favorite dish of all foods is what we just call Chicken-Okra. It is a gumbo of chicken, okra and tomatoes served over white rice. It takes a long time to cook - hours and hours. We used to get canned Tomapep and bring back to Houston, Texas. Hot as fire. I always request this (my mother is now 87) for my birthday dinner.

    How can u cover okro?

    • @ceefade_athome
      @ceefade_athome  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes I leave it uncovered. I find that it doesn't make that much of a difference as long as the Okra is not over-cooked.

      Cee Fade you don’t cover draw soup, it wont draw. The continuous steaming effect will dilute it.
