I've made: 200 lb braid - 200lb mono wind on leader.
100 lb braid - 80 lb fluoro wind on leader.
50 lb braid - 50 lb mono wind on leader.
40 lb braid - 40 lb fluoro wind on leader.
30 lb braid - 30 lb fluoro wind on leader.
Will attempt a 20 lb braid - 20 lb fluoro wind on leader
    soon.
    They all came out perfect.
All using T/T needles and hollow core braid.
PRAYING for full on fishing conditions by August
    in San Diego.
    Thanks again,

Roger that, we need those boats running. Cabin fever has set in hard, and while the virus is not good, its sure looking more like flu than the devastating bug originally projected. So, with sane minds, we should be good to go on the trips.

Got my 20lb fluoro to my 20lb braid
wind-on leader made this evening. Proved
I can make my own wind-on's from 200lb
down to 20 lb.. Yabo - dabo - doo!!!
Will build enough to store/carry in a Calcutta
binder My travel arsenal is finally starting to
really come together. Need to work with you
and that guy from "Quick-Rigs" on my terminal
      tackle. Strongly considering an Accurate
Tx-600x(6.1) (Tern star drag). You have any
      opinions on this model reel.

@@TheJwhollis - The Accurate Tern model you mention is a great reel. One fellow who I respect a great deal, Wahoo Bob (in some of our 8 day RRIII charters) bought one last season. Bob does not drop $ for fun, he bought it for wahoo fishing - his passion. Great reel for bombs and ironwork on 'hoo. Certainly other species too, but it's one of those great reels for that particular application. I'm not nearly as experienced or as good as Bob, typically fish an Avet JX and Sigler LGN for bombs and jigs for wahoo. If it's good enough for Bob, that's good enough for me to recommend. Okuma Tesoro is another good one to check. Those are made overseas, and of course the Accurate is made here in USA.

Clap! Clap! Very Nice Vid!!!!! I have to get one of your needle kits!

The best deal is for the FULL kit. That way
you'll have MOST every thing and sizes you'll
need. Then if you need one specialized sized threading needle (like in the larger sizes above 200 lbs) you can order the individual sizes you might need.

Mark, you and I think a lot alike and are clearly both on the fringe you speak of.
I'm curious how the Toro Tamer is selling for you? I have been using it for a number of years now and I would sign a sworn affidavit that it's the best hollow core on the market. Guys at my marina and I chip in to buy it in bulk spools these days. Confusing market to me. I have a spooling machine so i lend out my services to guys and mess with all the options. People pay a premium to get Power Pro hollow and it's horrific. To me it's the worst of all of them. The Seaguar as well and its stiffer than wire. The Momoi is an option given the price but its very stiff. JB, in my humble opinion, isnt the same product it was ten years ago. The second best one to me is Cortland actually but its still not as easy.
Toro is a small firm which i get but i hope for the sake of fisherman that people are starting ti catch on. Once you try it i cant imagine buying anything else.

Hey Mark, it's you're undercover east coast customer here with a question. When you splice solid Spectra into hollow Spectra do you create a lock like when making a loop? Taking the solid out and reinserting it? I've got 30# solid into 40# hollow and it makes me nervous how thin the 30# is. Thinking running it in and out and in could lock it down. Thanks!

Sorry I missed Jeff. I will trap the line, twice. That's held well, zero issues. One trap sufficient, two better when you are inherently insecure about rigging like me..

What is the type, brand & lb test of line that is on the serving tool? Thx.

For serving braid, I've used several and now run an 8 strand hollow line for serves and nails we had Toro produce. Initially that line was used to gain capacity on small reels. Being hollow it laid down very well, smooth, skinny, great fibers. Wasn't intended for inline rigging but for increased capacity. I began using it for serving and nail knots. MUCH better than the solid lines I'd been using, made the nails and serves much skinnier in diameter. So, that's what we had Toro do for the serving braids in 30# and 40#. Toro produces two solid 4 strand in multi-color for serving (that's what I had used before, the different colors helping me keep my leader tests consistent and easy to identify - different color nail/serve for different test leader). The 8 strand hollow is the better product, Toro sells it thru CharkBait in 100 meter spools.
