Thank you, sir. This is the best tutorial on this knot that I have found, thank you for taking the time to show us, still seeking my first longnose purple catfish
Good video. Would be better with a little wider lense but still the best video on how to tie the knot. What kind of terminal tackle do you use and where do you find is the cheapest ?
@aquaman461. Ya im still getting going camera wise im actually recording with my note10 cell alone & no help🤦♂️ bare with me brothah😅😅. But i stick with the high end stuff always Barlows tackle is good Tackle direct and Melton tackle and Catch all tackle are all good shops you can buy from without a buisness/tax number. Good prices too. I like spro swivels owner hooks split n solid rings the long crimps i use come from catch all i swear by them. For beads google Beadery products they have everything imaginable far as beads go 1k packs for 3-4 bucks. Same beads you'll pay 3.99 for 12 at shops. Dig through those sites buy bulk n save more if you can & will use that much. 100pks of hooks over 5pks will cut costs alot for you same with swivels line ect. Stings at 1st but it pays off in the long run. I think a couple of those places do the pay over time gig too maybe that helps. Appreciate the question & apologize for the slow reply. Thanks for checking out the page i appriciate it👊 hope that info helps out.
@@Betterthanbought. thanks i appreciate all the good details. Wasnt criticizing just pointing it out in case you werent aware. Following your journey and sharing your videos. Keep up the good work!
@@aquaman461 For sure wasn't taken personally at all brothah👊 i agree with you 💯 im deffinatly lacking hard with cam skills & equipment. Really appreciate the support man means alot.
Im not really sure about that to be honest. You probably could my only concern would be it slipping or sliding on you. Great question for sure. If your going to try it i think i would put a lil rubber cement or sylicone on the braid 1st then tie your floss loop on over that good & tight & allow it to dry good before use. The cement/sylicone should help keep it from sliding on the thin braid but would still be flexible so its not creating a stiff spot on you like super glue does may work out great for you. Thank you for stopping by the channel and best of luck on the water. Go get em👊
@@Evan721sxm Most use a prefab (retail) buoy whip between their braid or braid/mono or via a custom length wind on leader like i show in the vid before this i believe. Its in there somewhere. How to make a wind on leader. A whip is basically 4 feet of dacron (finished) with loops in both ends. If you cant whip a loop or dont have needles just use a Bimini Twist on each end. Put your floss loop in the middle of that. Then tie a Bimini on your braid for a loop to loop connection👌. Pre made whips will have a loop already on them.
I have seen it done but im not reeling metal crimps through my guides no thank you. 1 chip & its over you'll break off everytime. Dont like wind on swivels either same problem guide destroyers. The loop is king imo its simple & easy to do👍.
Few issues I see here you’re saying it’s the correct way yet you’re setting your loop up to slide with out locking it in if that weight slides at all it will slowly pull a bend in your mono creating a straightened loop and bent mono essentially reversing your loop You’re using 8 ft of mono between your weight and the leader that sets you up to bang the crap out of the boat or drop it trying to get it in the boat when the fish makes a run Clip your long line clip to the floss not the section of mono covered by the floss so that your weight will be easier to break free rather than loose all of your braid lights leader bait and potentially a fish There’s a right way to rig for swordfish and there’s the way your doing it and they ain’t the same way of doing things
I get what your saying but i dont agree. Its really just preference as where you clip on the floss loop is doubled so if thats where you like it have at it👍. Thats why its been doubled because some ppl do hook there. I will hook my buoy to the floss but i dont like going to the floss with my weight because it can get wraped up & be super hard to get off if it does spin & wrap which they sometimes do. The spiral wrap of knots protects the mainline & thickens it. Its thick & rough/bumpy enough the clip will not move at all thats 80lb floss over 400lb mono its not moving. And your lead line length solely depends on the boat your fishing from dude cmon. There is no standard for this you go with what the situation calls for period. I fish from a 25' CC thats 2' off the water tops 4' counting from tip of bent butt. 8' of length is perfect for me its 2 quick arm lengths & the weights in my hand & no it dont hit the boat either. Far as breaking off thats what the drags for set it right & just let em run🤷♂️ why horse em? For the record i was taught this by 1 of the top sword capt in south Fl if not the top capt. Its exzactly how he does it & exzactly how im going to continue. And yes i have seen the retail wind ons & the way there setup you have to use the loop as there's no protection on your mainline. Thats just a quicker way of tieing it up not necessarily better just better for buisness time is money. Rig it how you like dude👍like i said its really just all personal preference. Thanks for commenting👊
