Those who only use solid braid. I got good news: you can also make windon using aussie plait to make loop on the braid and connect it to leader with PR. Now on your main line you can also make aussie plait then catspaw it to the wind on. Now you can change leader as u fish no more tying. If u break the main line. Just bimini twist it or 5 turn surgeons loop it. Quick and easy.
Only issue I see with that method is if you break off the leader or need to change, that method isn't a quick fix. I could be wrong just my observation. Thanks for the content enjoy learning different techniques.
Good insight! This is a method/technique that is best done before the trip or during your downtime on the way out. If you're looking for a quick fix, and albright or RP knot would be a good way to go. If you happen to break off above the loop to loop connection, it would most likely be from the braid getting cut off from another line or on the hull of the boat.
Good demo! How do you connect your loop to the mainline? I'm assuming your reel has another braid, or do you use a mono topshot in this configuration? Is there a specific knot you use?
Great job, I use UV glue on the first inch of leader and braid before I start making my half hitches then I do 3 full hitches at the end and wind it back onto its self like you mentioned.
Love the half hitches at the end, pain in the ass to secure it otherwise.
fg works as well...never failed me ..ever...bluefins up to 163lbs...

@@dannyshepard9293 you make a Bimini Twist on the main line then you put the two loops together with a cats paw type knot
