great video! i guess this could be used to rejoin two pieces of solid braid . in case of some damage on main solid braid line i can cut damage out and re join with hollow braid..
This is one way or you can tie a Bimini in each side of the line and attach them loop to loop three times through the loops cat paw.
@@AccurateFishingReels only issue with Bimini in braid is that it does reduce the strength of the line quite considerably. They are not 100% knots in braid as lot of people think. can lose up to 30 to 40% of strength . in one knot competion the wining Bimini had to be wrapped by hand , no rolling tag end and pulling up o the loop to roll tag end. it was shown that especially in braid , the normally tied bimini is not that strong... whereas the splice is more or less 100% assuming no slipping

What lb test did you use for the nail knot ?
Very nice, I'll try this method, although won't the pointed mono end stick through the braid? Try to deliberately do it by bending the braid right at the end of the mono and see! I think it will poke out! So this method is just as good as regular serving method?

Only two feet for the splice? I’ve been running my topshot 8-12 ft into the hollow core.
Casting knots through guides is tough. Rule of thumb is five foot bluefin tuna is 2 1/2 feet to stomach? roughly. If he swallowed the bait you would still have 6 - 12" at 3 or 4 feet. We do not like to cast knots through the guides is why we use short leaders. Need a longer cast for foaming fish. Thanks.

Bobbin knot is an excellent knot but on the west coast they are not familiar with it. I think both work equally well.
Is this just to avoid feeling your whole real with the expensive Hollow stuff
Most of these guys fish some hollow on their reels. If they are kite fishing they will fish the multi strand single line to cut wind better for tuna fishing. If they are fishing bait they tend to use al to of hollow core.
Wouldn't a whipped finish and a nail knot be the same ?
