Harlock2day I'd say your very unlucky to have spent that much and have no joy with flights. I swear by DJI's stuff (phantoms, mavic Pro, spark mavic air) you can't really go wrong especially if you get the DJI refresh too. This was shot primarily with my phantom 4 pro but I have a mavic Pro too. You'll get a good deal on a phantom 3 Pro on ebay (I'd pay around £30p to £400)but buying second hand comes with its risks especially if you don't know what to look out for. I'd recommend the Mavic Air if you were looking at a new drone to get into the hobby, but you'll be around £700 (UK pound sterling).
Nick McCaffrey thanks Nick, I had been doing films and shorts up to say 12 years ago so now I want to get back into it and it's all digital. I bought a cheap drone to learn how to use it and get into it thinking that when I buy a proper one I'll pass the cheap one to my son to play with. Yes DJI sounds best, I think mine was from a company called Tiger but I wouldn't swear on it. It is fully kitted with screen and remote control but I think I clipped one the the wings and it's not starting again. Delicate things.😀
I'm not sure I understand the question? There are two main ways to get to Shetland. You can get a Ferry from Aberdeen (mainland Scotland) or fly from Inverness, Glasgow or Aberdeen. I believe you may be able to fly direct from Bergen (Norway too).
Yeh, unfortunately it's yet another dreadful corruption from the Ordinance Survey map makers. An official Shetland Islands Tourism map I have has it spelt as Oyja and all my life and everyone I know calls/pronounces it Oyja. It comes from Old Norse "Oyja,an island adjacent to a flat fertile stretch of land along water " :)
Yep, it's a case of "use it or lose it" so don't be afraid to use it!. When you look at the name "Oyja" that's what you say but Uyea is just stupid and nothing like it.
I visited Shetland as a ten year old, now almost 40 years ago. I have vivid memories of the land a people we saw and hope to return someday.
I hope you do come back, it feels selfish to keep it all to myself 😊

Woden of the Angles thanks very much :)
Who would invite me to Scotland ?
I'm not sure I understand the question? There are two main ways to get to Shetland. You can get a Ferry from Aberdeen (mainland Scotland) or fly from Inverness, Glasgow or Aberdeen. I believe you may be able to fly direct from Bergen (Norway too).
nicely done
Great video, is that Oyja in the North Mainland @ 7.22?.
Njugglesvatn yes it is, good spot! I see it spelled Uyea though?
Yeh, unfortunately it's yet another dreadful corruption from the Ordinance Survey map makers. An official Shetland Islands Tourism map I have has it spelt as Oyja and all my life and everyone I know calls/pronounces it Oyja. It comes from Old Norse "Oyja,an island adjacent to a flat fertile stretch of land along water " :)
fair point, you learn something new every day!
Yep, it's a case of "use it or lose it" so don't be afraid to use it!.
When you look at the name "Oyja" that's what you say but Uyea is just stupid and nothing like it.
Love it

Too many gosh darn whales for one video.
It's kinda funny Shetland is the name of this island because of the word "shet".
