The V6TT is proven tech, it will be fine, but I was concerned about the turbo placement. Looks are subjective, but it's infinitely better than the old bubble SUV designed for retirement communities. However, it's weird that my wife felt the GMC Denali trims were more luxurious than the Lexus GX OT we test drove. Also, the technology is just so much better, built in Google maps in my dashboard with HUD? Infinitely more useful than any other dash. Also, buttons... Lots of buttons, touch screens require you to take your eyes off the road. I don't like the cost savings they are doing and it most definitely isn't saving us any money. I can get big money off MSRP with other brands that while it may have a squeak or two more, a few more electrical gremlins because it doesn't have Lexus's super stringent line checks, will basically make it as long as I need it to (8 years - under 100k miles) and get better MPG with regular fuel. For $75k OTD, I feel like the GX550 is generally a waste of money for what you get.
There’s nothing cheap feeling about this vehicle. This is classic Lexus style luxury where they have great materials, if not class leading but superior build quality then the rest of the segment, while undercutting similarly segmented vehicles from Europe.
Lexus interior quality has been dropping for years. This thing is nothing more than a Toyota in a dress. It undercuts the European because it doesn't offer the same level of tech, material quality, or refinement.

couldn't find the real world fuel economy.....?
No thigh extenders = a no go for me. I wouldn't be able to get comortable. And not even a panoramic sunroof? Lexus just milking people for money.
You can get thigh extenders in the Land Cruiser.
Just because a vehicle looks rugged doesn't make it attractive. Like the G Wagon, ugly is as ugly does.
Lexus is just a more expensive Toyota. There ain’t nothing luxury about that car
Clearly the new LX and now GX don't have the interior quality of the LC and LS. The interior looks like a Toyota and the gauge cluster in particular looks pathetic.
The interior of the new GX 550 is underwhelming, resembling more a Toyota than a luxury vehicle. Additionally, the rear of the GX is not as nearly practical as the Land Rover Defender or Ineos Granadier. which are designed to handle dogs and dirty objects and off-roading activities much better that the Lexus interior.

Dude, my text says it was seven minutes ago. Yours is one minute ago.
@@carscrazy9870 Mine was a reply, so ofc it would be after yours, however I counted 4 comments with timestamps older than yours. Looks like some were bots that may have been removed now. Congrats, on your "post competition review win for first".
Desirable?😂🤣
It looks ugly outside, the interior is outdated, cheap materials abound, outdated tech, cramped inteiror, small trunk, pathetic driving experience, crappy ride, and it’s way overpriced
Oh and so far the twin turbo v6 hasn’t proven reliable so far😆
Typical Toyota Lexus overhyping and severely underperforming in the real world
oh so this is the guy that always leaves bad comments to every lexus videos because he cant afford lexus. lols. Bye! we dont need you here by
@@deejaylastimosa2479 if I could afford a Lexus I’d blindly get a more competitive brand. If I wanted a dressed up Toyota why wouldn’t I just get a top end trim of that Toyota?
Go upstairs find your mom and tell her to give you your meds

There’s nothing cheap feeling about this vehicle. This is classic Lexus style luxury where they have great materials, if not class leading but superior build quality then the rest of the segment, while undercutting similarly segmented vehicles from Europe.
Lexus interior quality has been dropping for years. This thing is nothing more than a Toyota in a dress. It undercuts the European because it doesn't offer the same level of tech, material quality, or refinement.
If you think there's nothing cheap about this, then you haven't experienced anything nice. I feel sorry for you.
Excellent review of a mediocre car!
Mediocre car? Put this offroad against any other car and see what happens
Very cheap looking interior for the price range
Interior is trash
