    Beware of buying imported brands like Myer or Lodge in India as they are not built for the design of the basic brass burners found in Indian stoves. They are thinner thickness in the centre, so dosas burn in the center before cooking on the sides. I bought a Lodge brand cast iron, and it was okay in the beginning and now it has completely got pitted/rough in the center 5 inch diameter, while the edges are still smooth, hence dosas are burning more in the centre. Being very expensive, I did not expect this, but now realized they are not meant for tri-pin brass burners, but more suitable for European style flat burners, the ones with the black ring/plate and flames come out from the sides.

    Can you do a similar review for cast iron panniyaram pan. It will be a great help as none of them are telling the exact dimensions of the pit. Had to return once because the pit size was too small

    Mam I purchased Indusvelly super smooth dosa rawa and seasoned also 3 to 4 times. One time i kept on slow flame for 20 minutes, but even then dosa was sticking on it. If i purchase dynamic taw which you have suggested,i will not get the same problem.

      Hi, in terms of stick resistance, Indus Valley Super Smooth is as good as Dynamic Cookware. Could it be something with the batter?

    Can U also show which Idli stand is better bc most in most idli stands the bottom plate idlis don't cook properly. Is a special vessel needed or it can be steamed in any round pot?

    • @everythingbetter
      @everythingbetter  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use idli makers which come with the vessel and the idli tray. Or if you use an idli stand already, keep it in a pressure cooker with sufficient water at the bottom and remove the pressure weight on the lid.

    Mam Hawkins non stick or Meyer cast iron, which yiu recomeend for daily use.

    • @everythingbetter
      @everythingbetter  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cast iron is definitely better than nonstick considering the health aspect. Meyer is an expensive option and I personally did not find anything so special about it. You could opt for Dynamic cookware or Indus Valley...

    • @everythingbetter
      @everythingbetter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lodge is a good brand. But being imported it is pretty expensive. Other brands made in India are equally good. Considering the value for money aspect, it is better to opt for Indian brands.
