  • Hello guys! With so many years of experience, why are manufacturers still making such mistakes? Or do they do? The emission restrictions they are currently imposing on builders are overwhelming, all builders in one way or another are suffering from the consequences of putting in various emission reduction devices. In this case, the FIAT group managed to resolve the situation very well and on top of that it managed to further reduce emissions. Also ensuring a longevity of the engine and these devices, DPF, EGRs for much longer than the initial systems.

    Hey, my friend has Opel Meriva with FIAT 1.3 mjt engine. A plastic T-shaped part that connects coolant hoses had broke while he was driving, and he had lost all the coolant. He noticed that the temperature had increased, and when he stoped he checked the coolant, and he did not see any. He had put some water in the system, and drove it at minimum rpm and down the hill on idle to the mechanic, he had found the issue. That is fixed, but now he has that "engine oil degradation" warning light. His engine had the DPF. He says that he had restet the service interval in March when he had changed the oil. So, what could have caused this? Oil oxidation due to overheating? Fuel in the oil, but why all of the sudden? He has no signs of head gasket faliure so far.

Then to pass between the subframe and the engine you may have to undo the timming belt b side engine mount to create space to remove it completely. And of course, start by removing the exhaust. Which one is correct please?
    Soot form the EGR that gets into the sump through blowby, mixed with the oil and onto the rings
    Or, the soot from the EGR gets straight on the rings.
    What part does the oil form the engine breather play with this?

    • @alfaromeonoproblem

    Hi there,
    Suzuki Ignis with first generation of this engine, with 51kW, no dpf, only has catalytic converter, started consuming oil at 280.000 km. Turbo is leaking oil, it was tested in a dedicated turbo shop. But there is also oil in the intake side of turbo, so I am guessing oil is coming from engine itslef. Your thoughts on the matter? Rings worn down or something else.

    I burn off all the carbon of my piston rings, with high rpm on my 1.4 Sandero, so no oil consumption at all. :p
    Off topic: I just had the left CV axle (LPR) replaced, and the gearbox oil (Elf Tranself NFP 75W80). And... Still have the same CV niose when turning sharp left under throttle, and clunking when let go off the throttle sometimes, as I had before. You told me that it could also be the transmission itself, so I guess it could be that, if nothing else can be the cause.
    Anyway, 100 Euros down the drain and no improvement... -_-

    • @DashCamSerbia
      @DashCamSerbia 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@alfaromeonoproblem The left one. I think it is the left that was making the sound when turning, because in a 90 degree left turn, left wheel is turned more then the right one, so CV joint is under more load. I know they usually say, if you hear it when turning left, it is the right axle. But mechanics have checked them both some months ago, and told me that they are still good, but if one of them is the problem then it is the left one.

    Hi there, looking for some advice on my 2011 1.3 multijet, i have failed my emissions test due to exessive smoke, it has 50K miles. The dpf had been deleted, egr had been coded out, many sensors had been coded out. So, i had a tuner turn everything back on (back to standard) i also replaced the Dpf, new EGT sensor, new MAP sensor, gave it a full service, i have replaced the crank breather assembaly. I can confirm everything is working corectly, i have not performed a dpf regeneration becauase i am currently waiting for a new Maf sensor. The van still smokes like it did when i failed the MOT, cutrently the maf is reading open circuit short to ground, but it does read temperature quite accurately but im not sure about air quantity. On idle the demanded air mass almost matches the actual air mass, but when you rev to 3000 rpm the actual air mass is around almost 40% more than the demanded air mass.... i dont know what else to do. Do you have any thoughts on my issue , thanks alfa man

    • @alfaromeonoproblem
      @alfaromeonoproblem  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello. I believe you are not on the best path...
      Removing and coding out things will always let to bad diagnosis. And most parameters will be false.
      On top of that, it will be almost impossible to pass emissions without the things that take care of that.. like DPF and EGR.

    • @Rusty-sprocket
      @Rusty-sprocket หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No you read my comment backwards, when I purchased the van I found that the dpf and egr had been electronically removed, I have now put the vehicle back to original. So now it HAS a working EGR, and dpf, all sensors are working

    • @alfaromeonoproblem
      @alfaromeonoproblem  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @russellvines9105 ok, sorry. Do you have the original map, sure?
      Make sure the pipe between the air meter and the turbo is not damaged. Also you may have a blank on the EGR still. And probably the intake manifold very clogged

    • @Rusty-sprocket
      @Rusty-sprocket หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes we now have original map, I have installed a new/improved intake pipe that is very secure, I can confirm there is no blanking plate on the egr, I checked already to see correct operation of egr and there is no blanking plate. I have not checked to see if intake manifold is clogged, however, I can confirm that the van had alot of power before I had to 'de-tune' the engine for the emissions, it had enough power to spin the wheels haha. But, I had to make it standard again because of the issues with emissions. Do you think it's more likely that I have an issue with injectors or maybe I have an issue with the piston rings . Thanks for your reply I appreciate that you have taken the time to reply ro me, thanks

    • @Rusty-sprocket
      @Rusty-sprocket หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Before I dig deeper into the engine, I will install the new Maf sensor. I purchased a cheap sensor wich reads incorrectly. The original maf sensor has a short to ground issue. So.... I hope the new Bosh maf will fix my problem, but I have a feeling that there is another issue here. After installing the dpf I have not been able to perform a Regen due to a faulty EGT sensor - I replaced with a new one yesterday and it's working great, before I perform a regen I need to instal new MAF. Do you think my exhaust will smoke less once I have given it a good Regen? . Before I installed my used dpf filter I did soak it overnight in dpf cleaner before fitting to the engine, however , live data shows that it is still has some deposites in the filter ... I dont know if this will cause exessive smoke....

    Hi there. I have a Fiat 500L 2013 1.3 litre mjet with 80,000 miles and it has some significant oil consumption. I changed the oil to manufacturer specifications (Castrol 5W 30 S1) but still consumes a lot of oil. What can I do?

    Hi i have one problem i have an Alfa Romeo MiTo 1.3jtdm euro 5. sometimes the car can start the fan, change the sound of the engine and turbine and start blue smoke from the exhaust (absolutely everything looks and sounds like dpf regeneration) only there is no light on the regeneration started, diagnostics does not show the regeneration performed when this happens. do you have any advice for me what this could be? the car consumes 1-2 liters of oil per 10000km

    • @mihajlom6793
      @mihajlom6793 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The car uses Castrol magnatec 5-40dpf, all the highest quality filters, constantly pouring diesel with an additive as a kind of premium diesel fuel. The clutch set, the chain, the chain sliders for the chain, the rollers all, as well as the chain tensioners were replaced. The only thing I know at the moment that there is in the problem is one glove plug and I noticed when the engine was washed that the turbine leaks air in one place.

      Hello. Ok, the smoke is not normal even for a regen. a normal one at least. Most of the times oil accumulated on the for does that. Also bad injectors does that smoke. But the fan kicking in appears to be regen.
      Can you see on diagnosis the regen intervals?

    • @mihajlom6793
      @mihajlom6793 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@alfaromeonoproblem they may be, but it doesn't happen all the time once in a few days. Yes I can see regeneration intervals(if you mean the mileage since the last regeneration) maybe 6 months ago i saw on delphi diagnostic that the dpf filter is 23% clogged, dpf was cleaned with some würth preparations, dpf was never removed. but never changed

    • @alfaromeonoproblem
      @alfaromeonoproblem  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Delphi is very bad diagnosis tool.. the percentage is not relevant, you will have the actual miles between regeneration
