Really excited about the new build. I have a 59 dodge d100 that my great uncle bought brand new so to see a similar truck being built might motivate me to go out and tinker with mine

Looking good Cory and Hanna. I’m doing a Cummins swap on a 70 ford f350 on TH-cam. I won’t have room for an intercooler either. I plan on using a water to air intercooler from a 6.7 superduty. It should all fit under the hood and no one will see it from the outside. And I’m looking for a used one.
I'm not a Dodge guy but can't you put the manual trans from the 24 valve in place of the automatic? I figure that will be the best of both, the 12 valve and the manual.
Your school bus you just bought would look good turned into a RV. Bigger than the camper you currently have. Just a suggestion. I think you two could make it look awesome like the two of you are.

That truck is a three year body run as 1958, 1959 & 1960 and my understanding is that 1959 is the first year for the fleet side bed. The 4x4 fenders are the same as the D400 and D500 fenders as your other Dodge in the yard.
It’s too bad the Golden Nuggets cab is junk because if it was me that cab would get restored, and that white with black stripe bed would get restored as well and I would leave the truck cap on it because I think that is a unique color combo the gold and the white with black striped would really make it have that old-school used car lot vibe
I hope you were recording when you hit the garage door lol I think you should repaint your new shop truck two tone like it is and then patina at this way here you clean it up a lot and still give it a good patina right now. I just has too much surface rust.

Id go with the 12 valve and the manual transmission, super simple, no brain box and not worrying about auto transmission problems.
We will have the automatic trans rebuilt and probably be manual valve body
