ゲームの内容は、コミカルなキャラクターを使用した、オーソドックスなタイプのアクションゲームである。8方向レバーで移動、魔法の炎攻撃とジャンプにボタンを使用する。また、敵を倒すことで得られるゴールドを使用して、ショップでアイテムなどを買うことができる。武器にはそれぞれ一長一短があるので、場面に応じて上手に買い換える必要がある。
ストーリー:
主人公の少年と少女は思わぬことから不思議な世界（ワードナの森）に迷い込んでしまった。少女は水晶玉に変えられ、森の支配者ワードナに森の奥深くに連れ去られてしまう。少年は意を決し、魔法の炎を武器に少女を取り戻しに行く。

2 youngsters, Pyros and Erika, unexpectedly strayed into a wonderland called Wardner's Forest. Upon entering the magical forest, the young girl was changed into a crystal ball by an evil warlock called 'Wardner', the ruler of the forest, and brought to a secret place deep inside the woods. The brave young Pyros armed with only a magic flame as a weapon sets out to rescue his female companion from the clutches of the evil Wardner and bring her safely home. Join him in his adventurous search through the magical forest to save his friend and to break Wardner's spell over the enchanted forest and all the inhabitants.

子供の時に初めてプレイしたアーケードゲームだった懐かしい
Was looking for this game for so long time .
I had great time play this game as a kid ,but i i was not able to remember the name of the game.
WOW i find this video by luck.
And i remember a trick in the last level of this game where you change floors somehow and you unlock something ,but i can remember what is this.
I will start the video now and hope i see this trick in this walkthrough.

I only got to play "Wardner's Forest" here once, on vacation for a few hours in Virginia at a motel. Nice seeing it again here. : )

I remember bunking off school so I could play this in the arcade. I once got 9999999 score. It doesn't go past that. There was a part in the game where you could just keep repeating and get lots of extra lives. That's how I did it.

What made you buy the game? My sisters friend from high school gave us the game on genises and Iv been hooked. Iv never seen it displayed for sale or never seen the arcade version at the arcade.

At 5:18 he just killed the female perpetrator illusion without seeing the true culprit. On the Sega Genises your in for a real surprise! It almost gave me a heart attack as a 9 year old kid.

I played this on the Genesis (aka Mega Drive). It's a harsh mistress... I couldn't get much farther than those creepy Krull blades. It doesn't look like it gets any easier from there.

Nope, that was the US name. I never ever saw "Pyros", just "Wardner" and the occasional "Wardner no Mori". "Pyros" was most likley a boot.
