Any company that does custom tuning will tell you to absolutely NOT TO RUN JB4 on top of the tune…as a custom tuner I have no way to guarantee that piggy back device will have no adverse effect on my calibration. If people were to take a basic tuning class they would understand there is no reason for a JB4 if you are runnning a custom tune
I have no guarantee your custom flash tune isn't going to happily run lean all day long without triggering any safety. Or that it won't keep pouring on more and more boost even after major timing pulls. But in all seriousness, the JB4 is highly proven in the BMW world and there isn't any reason it can't be very safely and effectively stacked with custom back-end flash tuning. There's a reason so many record holding BMW's use a JB4 + custom BEF. Either that or you switch to a standalone ECU like Syvecs.
You might think that until I showed you before and after results of my custom tunes vs others. Also you should see the data logs from cars that run pedal and map booster products..they do absolutely nothing..enjoy Johnny generic piggy “whack” “tooning” lol lol

I do want to point out that with the jb4 the stock pcm is a huge sandbag on performance. I’m currently running a fbo 2.7 eco set up on e50 and the jb4 is great but anytime I lay down the power on a race map, the stock pcm will throw the truck into limp mode. What I’m getting at is the jb4 is great for mild builds but if you’re looking for something serious you need to flash then run a jb4 on top.
Very good point. The JB4 is designed for a milder build unless you're planning to run a back-end flash with the JB4. That's exactly what we do on a few of our twin turbo BMW's. The JB4 was a great starting point but as we began building them out it was time for flash tunes. Now the JB4's control the secondary fueling system, act as a more accurate boost controller, have a few additional safety nets built in, along with some other handy features and benefits. Ultimately, we're big fans of the JB4 since it's a good starting point for mild builds and if you want to take things to the next level the JB4 is still a good tuner (with a proper back-end flash) that makes certain things simpler.
@@8020Media I’m a huge fan of the jb4 don’t get me wrong. Do you guys have a favorite flash tune system that you guys run the jb4 as a controller on? Once my warrantee is up I’ll be flashing.

Paul - Without knowing what your day-to-day commutes look like, it is difficult to provide an exact frequency of how often an intercooler will experience heat soak, but it is more likely to occur in the south. But, it may be more common in stop-and-go traffic, where there is limited airflow over the intercooler. Additionally, more aggressive driving that generates higher levels of heat can increase the likelihood of heat soak. However, under normal driving conditions and with a well-maintained cooling system, heat soak should not be a persistent issue.

Hey James - unfortunately we don't do install work on other peoples vehicles. We are making our own intercooler for the F150's if you hold off for a few months we might be able to help with one of our own products but still a number of months away so if you are looking for an immediate solution I'd recommend giving it a go yourself, it's not a super challenging DIY.
