I lived in GL for 10 years I grew up there from 1977-1987 WOW went to school in Granby worked for the town of Grand Lake for 2 yrs Lol Shot off fireworks off the dock on the beach.. rode snow machines all over the place did 120mph on shadow mountain lake..
Grand Lake is a very beautiful, picturesque, atmospheric town. Grand Lake is famous throughout the world because the great American hero Marvin Heemeyer lived there. It would be so wonderful if a museum was created there. Perhaps those people who knew Marvin in person could share their memories of him. It is enough to listen to his famous Audio tapes to understand how good a person he was, kind, smart, and with a good sense of humor. His nature, his faith, his genius are just fascinating. The scale of his personality is so great that the local story of corruption in Granby becomes a world History about a fearless, kind and brilliant man. He created the amazing Kingdozer machine. And he overcame evil with good.
