I highly recommend the san juan mountains of southwestern Colorado. Anywhere near Durango, Silverton, Ouray, Telluride, etc.. i used to camp in Cunningham gulch just outside of Silverton, co. Just past the old one hundred mine. Beautiful country!
Hope you figured out in advance that you have to get tickets in advance and they sell out quick. I haven't been since I was a kid and I didn't know about the tickets. We still went with the kids but didn't get to go ON any sites - only view from a distance.
Thanks for this!!! I've been keeping track of campsites for a few years and this definitely helped fill in the gaps in the Southern part of CO, which we hope to get through this Fall on our way further SW...
I am only 19 years old, but for the last six-ish years of my life I've known that I want to move to college when I am capable of doing so. The info on this site has provided me with even more exciting opportunities to explore the day I move! Thanks for the content.

Greetings from Pune City India. Please tell me the location where cowboy movies made. It's the Westerns that makes me to come and see all South West USA especially Arizona,Utah, California, Mexico. And Texas yes I enjoyed your videos Thanks for sharing all the information.
Hey brotha I’ve had this whole video on my bucket list for a while now. I planned to take a whole month to hit up all these campsite next month. I was wondering if you were willing to help me out with more info to getting to these destinations. I am pulling my travel trailer. Please let me know if you’re able to assist me. Thank you.
Awesome video, my friend! Great mountain camp! Enjoyed watching, your skills are really good! And the surrounding nature is amazing. Cheers from Russia, bro, and welcome to my channel about special bushcraft tips and hacks! Kind regards, Yuriy! 😀
I love Campendium and use it often, but these videos are very helpful. Nice to see the areas nearby and have the links. We've been wanting to go to Mesa Verde, but were very unhappy to learn that they don't take the National Parks Senior Pass. Love the option of the nearby campsite you featured. Thank you!
Any areas I should try to avoid? I’m gonna go car camping with a friend of mine and are trying to shoot for Rocky Mountain National Park! Just wondering also if there’s plenty of hotels just in case we can’t find a spot to park and sleep XD. Lmk ASAP we leave Thursday morning!
Be sure to confirm open/closed (some of these areas are seasonal) status before arrival and always practice common-sense safety practices! You can find even more options for overnight over on www.campendium.com ⛺️ - Liz
Great video! Thank you for highlighting free camping in Colorado. Hoping to have the opportunity to visit beautiful Colorado this summer. All of your recommendations look inviting. Can see why they made the list! 😊
Each location is different. While most don't require a reservation in a traditional sense, some may require a permit (free or for a small fee). You'll want to click on the links to each camping location above to learn the specifics! Happy camping - Liz
NOPE! Wyoming has way more. Colorado actually sucks. I should know I’m 61 born and raised NEVER left and been an avid outdoorsman pretty much my entire life.
Yes these are the sites! And pronounce things this way when you show up, great spots for vacationers 👍

I bought a Prius because it’s perfect for setting up a cozy make shift bed inside. I’m nervous about this but here I go.

Yes. There is dispersed camping at the Southern lake on the West side. Or the West lake on the South side. 😂 Great for lake access!

Do you need four wheel drive I only have two wheel drive
Many do not need 4 wheel drive
Not for every campsite! You'll note that several of the places Seth mentions include areas for big rigs or non-4x4s.

Reading reviews and using stock images without any actual insight 😭 okay
is there any security here or staff?
