An Earnest Warning about Lukewarmness - Charles Spurgeon Sermon
Revelation 3:14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.
Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship.

Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 January 31, 1892) was a British Reformed Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers." In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times a week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the New Park Street Chapel in London for 38 years. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon's which now works globally. He also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him after his death.
Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Arguably, no other author, Christian or otherwise, has more material in print than C.H. Spurgeon.

Dear lord awaken us from our lukewarmness. Awaken me. Burn up the dross and keep the flame to my heart. Help me to be obedient and sensitive to your Spirit and leadings. Covict me and awaken our souls to righteousness. Let us sow in righteousness and reap in mercy.

MacArthur is a great Bible teacher Spurgeon was the people preacher not above christ our our brither Paul. But much of his preaching was built from puritans. All glory to you father! I follow Christ my lord my savior!

lots Christians are lukewarm we are in that age but they will get white hot when the persecution starts getting bad in the west and countries not being persecuted now.
You must pick a side Good or bad. You must stand for something,and fight for what you believe in.
You cant say it's ok to be a sinner and say live and let live. You must stand for righteousness.

The prophecy is being fulfilled. We are in a time of preachers who tickle the ears and fleece the sheep or who themselves simply don't know what needs to be preached.
lukewarm should scare anyone who believes they are Christian...read pray give read more pray more give more ...24 7 Christ ...I wana know one thing and that's Jesus Christ and Himself crucified!

It is easy to be in are of great preachers but we must not tryst everything they say. According to this message Spurgeon said that Christ does not intercede for the Roman Catholic Church and luke warm churches. This is not true according to the scriptures and the heart of Christ. There are many in the Catholuc church and in lukewarm churches who are hungry for the presence of God and Christ is praying for these and loves them. There are many in Islam and Hinduism that sincerely search for God and love him as best they know how, surely Christ loves them and intercedes for them? We hear of Moslems in remote village mosques who cry out to God for spiritual light and find Christ even though no Christians witness to them! How is this possible if Christ does not intercede for them or loves them?

So you are saved by works and grace..and apparently you CAN lose your salvation if u dont keep your works up..grew up in baptsist churches...maybe they should change what they are teaching people
Charles Spurgeon said no such thing.
we are saved by faith, but we are called to fight the good fight of faith. if we deny him he will also deny us.
it may not always be a question of salvation either, as some the scriptures say will be saved although their works are burnt up.
but it could be whether we will be his bride or not.
not all in the kingdom will be the bride of Messiah i dont think.
either way, we should take these exhortations seriously and be zealous for God
