Hello, I am new to this car detailing. Can you help me suggest a few products. I am wanting to buy a water-less cleaner as I don't have access to water. Also, I want to later protect the paint and keep in shiny as well. As the car is red I want certain UV protection too. Your suggestion would be really helpful.
Cracking little review! All my start up gear was from halfords, basically just picked the cheapest of each category, wheel cleaner, shampoo, snow foam etc., and gave it a go. I didn't really have any problems with anything. Last time I looked AD wasn't in there but I have their lance and magifoam and purple rain, good products in my opinion. Cheers for the video.
Daunting amount of products. I tend to use what I’ve trusted for years - you can’t go wrong with Autoglym albeit can be pricey. Dilutable wheel cleaners more cost effective too. Great product review mate.
I must admit, I used to spend a fortune on detailing products trying different products that do the same job. Now I keep it simple and actually tend to just get most of my supplies from Halfords. I generally just buy Autoglym and Meguiar's stuff from Halfords as its just in town and saves postage etc. Only products I buy online are CarPro spray on ceramic spray as it comes in a 1.5 ltr or so, Dr. Leather cleaner, Aerospace 303, Surfex HD APC and anything else that makes sense to buy in gallons.
Thanks. As a car owner I would love to see a video that shows a list of hand picked products that i can buy from Halfords (based on prices and performance) along with a step by step tutorial about how to detail my car with each of those products. Can't seem to find this type of video anywhere.
Not sure I agree with your comment on autoglym. They are always in reviews. Their new wheel cleaning is recommended as the best or on par with Bilt Hamber. So yes they are very popular because they do the job very well.
I have used the Auto Glam Rapid Ceramic Spray, and I really like it. Easy to apply approximately 30-40 minutes to do my Audio A5 and It lasts a good 3-4 months if Irish Summer weather. Definitely worth trying although am prepping for the full Ceramic coat shortly.
@@APASSIONFORDETAILING yeah I bought a megauirs set off them a few years back. Compound, polish and liquid wax, polished my car by hand before I got a DA.
Nice one! A very original idea this as I've not yet seen it on any other UK Car detailing Channels. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised to see Chemical Guys products in there.... Some great content. Please keep up the good work!
I always buy my detailing products online but delivery can take an age, as stated my local Halfords doesn’t have such a great collection but I always go in for top up products and air fresheners! Great review though !!
Interesting video, thanks. I appreciate your recommendations. I'm surprised that you say Auto Glym isn't that big, I don't doubt you but I thought they were so well known here. That Halfords had a much bigger selection that any other I've been to, I wonder if the lockdown(s) gave detailing a boost and Halfords was one of the few places open. The Autobrite stuff can be good, their Crystal glass cleaner glides over the window, it makes me think there must be a lubricant in it. Keep 'em coming. Cheers.
Phil I think that there maybe abit stuck in the old days there still big but I don't think there people's go to any more I might be wrong you just don't see the brand everywere like you used to. Was massive when I was growing up all I really remember back when I was helping my dad when I was a kid. Yhhh this hslfords is big and do handy on my door step. Not used enough ABD stuff to say if it's really good I'm sure there's more to come thsmj you for watching
Wow wish my local Halfords stocked as much as yours! Only thing I would check on all these attractive products is the safety , some are very nasty on skin/ fumes like autobrite magifoam. The labelling does warn you but you probably dont read it before you bought it!
Great video fella, my local Halfords closed down end of 2020 which is a shame, nearest on is a 20 mile round trip ! Used it loads in the first lock down, detailing friends, family and nieghbours cars . Think it was the only thing that kept in from going round the bend !!!!!!! and picked up some extra ££££££££ All the best :)
@@APASSIONFORDETAILING hi mate merry Christmas, yes inside and out would be great it's abit overwhelming when it comes to products so many to choose from so don't know what is going to work best for the money, I have brought shampoos before and they barely foam up so might aswell wash with just water so a list of go too products you can just walk into Halfords and grab to get the job done to a decent standard would be a great help. hi there what would you advise for light scratches and stone chips on the car paint work I have tried a lot but not had good results also thank you for the great videos
We don’t have as much products as what you get in your Halfords. I’m in Kilmarnock and my local store only has Autoglym, Meguiar’s, Auto Finesse and Turtle Wax. Now and then there’s Farecla G3 and Yianni’s own brand
@@APASSIONFORDETAILING I’ll have to keep an eye out to see what else they’ll be stocking in, but the store is only half the size compared to yours. Keep up the great content :)
Whats the best cheap standard shampoo in here? My standard routine is jsut some CPW, a wash, then a spray detailer such as AF finale. I had heaps of the EZ shampoo but am running out and looking for something else. Im also going to give the Turtle wax sealent a go. Im just getting a new white car and will be doing a dull decon along with a coat of DODO juice diamond white as i hear its very good. Just need to cement my standard maintenance routine
So who has brought products from Halfords... is there any at your local one that arnt in mine ?

Love Autoglym as I used it in the 90’s as a car detailer. The problem is it’s too expensive in Australia now. I can’t justify buying it at this price.
Biggest issue with shipping costs now days
We have sane issue here for things like p&s to the UK or adams
