You have to watch out on the cam because if you have TCase gears you can't run the torque cam. They won't go faster than 55mph. Also I run a Toyota Starlet carb. It rips!!

    This things sweet! We watched you go through cougar buttes and it looked well put together compared to the leaf spring samis. Do you get much side to side play in the rear axle with that link set up? I had something identical on my old truck and kept wearing out rear upper link axle joint. I had to flip and remount it horizontal so the side to side loading was put into the walls of the joint instead of the sleeve (pressed in middle part of joint? Not sure of correct rod end terms)

    Thanks for asking…..my mods will begin after the kubota motor is married to the Sami tranny. This is a emergency install since I plastered my Polaris diesel into a fugitive pickup trying to make a get away after cherry picking our farm garage.
    The kubota is tiny so the lift may not be required. Our farm has slopes of 1 to 1.5 - 2…requiring 4x4 and slow torque.

    Love the build. Was wondering if you could provide any details on your Holley sniper fuel system. Will it work with the turbo you are planning on? Any other engine build info would be great as well. I’m just looking for the ability to cruise the highway on my way to trails or work

    • @ultra4suzukisamurai679
      @ultra4suzukisamurai679  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right now the motor is bored .020 over, stock style dished pistons, head has been milled .027, adjustable cam pulley, mild porting, LowRange OffRoaf 272 cam, mild intake porting, Doug Thorley header, 2” exhaust. Holley doesn’t recommend turbo with a non “super Sniper” but you can definitely do it, it just requires more experienced tuner. The Super Sniper is easier for beginners to boost safely. I plan on building up another motor for the turbo. Forged rods and pistons ect. Step one is a new intake manifold as I think that is holding back some power. I will do a video on that soon. Thanks for watching!

    • @ultra4suzukisamurai679
      @ultra4suzukisamurai679  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use the 2GC Small bore, it the closest to the original carb in size. I have lots of pics on my instagram, @downing.fabrication. Basically I welded up the carb stud holes and re drilled to match sniper. And open up the throats of the manifold to match as well.

  • @ralposoft

    Was the holley sniper install easy??? And how does it performe???

    • @ultra4suzukisamurai679
      @ultra4suzukisamurai679  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It wasn’t too bad. Lots of pics on my Instagram, @downing.fabrication the mounting studs are off just a bit so I welded the holes in the manifold and re drilled and tapped. Then I had to hog out the small butterfly hole in the manic to match the larger side. It performs great, takes some time to dial in but totally worth it. Cold starts like a new car, doesn’t care about extreme angles, and is nearly stall proof in the rocks. The IAC maintains the idle under load. Thanks for watching!

      Shock companies are super busy these days. My front shocks are 0.015 compression stack/ 0.010 rebound. Rear shocks are 0.010 compression and rebound. All four have one free bleed hole in the piston, but I recommend 2 bleed holes. I will be doing this soon. Front springs are 200/225 and rears are 175/225. My Sammy weighs 2800 and the shocks have 7” up travel at ride height.

    My opinion, but I would swap the motor before spending time trying to turbo it. There are plenty of options with double the power that would be more reliable than trying to turbo an old suzuki motor that's not engineered for power in the first place.
