GREAT REVIEW! Underrated channel! Love the GS line up! I have a silver on black 2008 GS460 with 66,000 miles, no rust, mint condition, and only one owner! I loved UAE and Dubai when I visited!
@@805NAVE it sure is especially in this condition exterior interior and underbody! That’s sweet I have a white 2000 GS400 with 43,000 miles in like new condition. Super fun and fast! They run amazingly smooth and forever!
Good review. I had a 2006 Merc W219 CLS 3L v6 diesel and now have a 2006 GS300. I agree the leather and interior is better in the CLS. The GS300 (with 20bhp more) doesn’t feel any faster but is definitely smoother and handles slightly better. I got rid of the CLS due to reliability issues. Hopefully the GS will be good to me.
@@davidf.4886 yep. Been pretty good. I had the air con pump fail about 2 years ago, and the alternator about a month ago. All age related things. Very happy with the GS.
@@AlistairBeckett Thank you for your reply, Alistair! So, it seems maintenance costs aren't very high, right? Have you ever taken longer trips with the car, perhaps around 1300 km?
@@davidf.4886 I’ve an independent garage near me who is very reasonable for servicing. I’ve changed jobs so not driving as much. The most I’ve done is 200 miles in a day. It’s a comfortable car but only takes E5 fuel which is expensive. In a motorway run, it gets ~38mpg. Around town, about 28mpg.
Writing from California: Thank you for your video. While I don't agree with you about the first generation, I do find the GS generations fascinating. I drive the 2007 GS 350 and love the car. It's amazing how my third generation looks more like the first generation than the second GS generation in which it directly evolved from. True test of durability is when there are people who modify your brand of vehicle....see examples of Honda or Lexus, etc.
greetings, so how are you doing? did u buy the gs430? im a owner of 2gen gs300. actually had 2 of these, like 4 years ago got my first gs and then i had couple of bmws and i really missed my gs so this year i bought another one! my point is that it was a big mistake to ever go bmw way, thats why i returned.
u should drive Lexus GS460. better n more power, 348 horsepower. only offered btwn 2008-2012, and I think less than 1800 made. I own a 2008 and I love it. Better than my 2001 GS430 L-tuned.
I owners a mk2 gs300 and I absolutely loved it, it was one of the cars l wished I'd never sold. Im planning to buy a mk3, but has to be the hybrid bcoz fuel and road tax in England are quite high.
This has got to be the most weirdest test drives of a car I've seen to date. Going round and round and round and round and round a ruddy car lot car park? That's not a test drive. Yes good points on the superb GS430 but otherwise WEIRD.
Quite reliable car, I use to have GS300 2001 and then switched to GS430 more attached to the road lovely driving feeling, the only annoying part is the ABS that I had to change !
@@snggarageeng No I wish but it was the normal Engine without the turbo, my brother is using it till now I think it made around 210 Miles already, and still going...:)
That's why I went with a GS350. They have a normal vacuum assist brake boost. Not the electronic brake boost required for the radar cruise control. The V6 3.5 makes slightly more power than the 4.3 and is more economical and efficient. A cheaper car to run and maintain, especially without the cam belt service. The only trade off is a V6 sound over a V8 sound.
@@snggarageeng Hi, I’m considering buying Ls460L 2008 with 285k km, what would you suggest. Because I read it has quite a few issues over the time and repairs are expensive like control arms or suspensions.
