This movie captures the epitome of motherhood so well. Throughout the entire movie we see the robot slowly breaking down, giving so much of herself to complete her task of raising a gossling. The only thing that keeps her going at the end when she is on the verge of shutting down permanently is when the gossling nuzzles up to her neck and tells her he loves her, giving her renewed strength and purpose, making all her efforts and self-sacrifice worth it. It so accurately dipicts the struggle moms face in raising children, while also masterfully showing how love and meaning more than make up for it in the end. My wife was a mess throughout the entire last half of the movie. Such a beautiful film and one that we desperately needed in these times.

A very subtle aspect of Lupita's voice in this that I absolutely love.... Obviously at the start she spoke like beep boop beep boop and robotic... but her voice also had some sort of reverb on it, like all the other robots... and as she progresses to the end the reverb disappears and you just hear her raw, soothing, motherly voice, with the "human" expressiveness. I absolutely loved that attention to detail.

I think about this often. Every one seems to forget that in I-Robot, we had a good robot helping us. In Megan, Bruce the Robot helps defeat her. In REEL STEEL they use robots for fights. In Pacific Rim they use Robots to fight Monster robots. Terminator (I think) is the ONLY robot movie, that depicts AI robots as being evil, and capable of ruining the world, and it left a huge mark on what people think about robots

  • @TheodoreEnoch
    @TheodoreEnoch 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +62

The Wild Robot, in my opinion, is the best work of Dreamworks studio today. Here is a wall of text about why I think so:
In advance-sorry for my English, it is not my first language.I don't know why l'm writing this, because it will drown in other comments anyway, but I thought I should express these thoughts. I saw some discussions on the topic of who thinks which Dreamworks movie is the best and why is that so. And I wondered - where exactly would I put The Wild Robot in my personal tier list? And I came to the conclusion, that I would put it in the first place - together with the Prince of Egypt. Now I will explain why I decided so.
All good, high-quality animated works are diverse in their content and are never about just one thing: they contain elements of comedy, and some kind of action, and sometimes drama, and so on. Nevertheless, there is always ONE basic feature at their core, which usually defines the genre of a particular work,
For example, the main feature, the core of the whole Shrek story is (in my opinion) comedy. Yes, there is enough adventure, yes, there are dramatic moments (especially in part 4). But still, the very idea of turning the stories of fairy-tale characters upside down, the whole rethinking classic Disney narratives thing (it's no secret that Dreamworks and Disney have been... "connected" since the founding of the DW) is still comedic, entertaining, rather than anything else. And glorious entertainment it is!
In How to Train Your Dragon, the key genre is adventure and action. Yes, there is a lot of good humor, and deep messages, and there was even a place for romance, but it is still a memorable ADVENTURE story due to the extraordinary world of people and dragons built by the author. It was the thrill of seeing these epic creatures that guided the feelings of most viewers who got acquainted with the first film years ago, and this feeling did not go anywhere throughout the history of Hiccup and Toothless. The adventure called the audience to the screen, not the expectation of new jokes (even though they were great too).
Kung Fu Panda is a kind of a crossbreed between Shrek and HTTYD. Comedy plays a fundamental part in every
film in this series, but still - these are kung fu films, not stand-up compilation. And yet, the change of locations did not attract viewers as much as the story of the formation of the Dragon Warrior named Po. Rather, it's not about a practical adventure, but a spiritual adventure ⁃ Po's transformation from the humble beginning of the first film into a Dragon Warrior and a kung fu teacher
was a story of inner growth in the first place. So it's an adventure, but of a completely different kind.
And now about the Prince of Egypt and The Wild Robot.
The key genre of these animations cannot be precisely defined. There is a good humor (although there is not a lot of that in the Prince of Egypt), there is drama, there is adventure, and action. But still the movies are not really about that. These films are about human connection with the fundamental and absolute concepts of our world. The Prince of Egypt tells the reader one of the most famous stories among all mankind, which plays a key role in the three existing Abrahamic religions. This
is a serious and truly Divine topic, as well-known as it is sometimes incomprehen sible to people due to the
sublimity of the chosen narratives and the plot as a whole. And Dreamworks did the incredible thing ⁃ they took this story about truly Divine matters and taught
it to US at level accessible to most, preserving the connection of this story with the word of God. This is not
just a work of art - it is a real feat of conveying certain Divine truths to people in such a way that the story
sounds human, without losing its Divinity. Something beyond our experience and understanding has been
brought down to us in all its otherworldly beauty.
And what about the Wild Robot? The Wild Robot does the same thing, but in a different way - it does not bring down to our level stories, which are greater than
ourselves, but digs up in us what has always been a part of us, but was buried deep inside. If the truths of the Prince of Egypt are truly Divine, then the truths of the Wild Robot are truly Human. The nature of motherhood (and parenthood in general), the sense of belonging,
nature vs nurture, the essence and content of humanity, the essence of love - all these topics are as fundamental
as possible for humanity as a whole. None of this is alien to us, nothing is strange, but everything is relevant
    - and that's why this piece of art touches the hearts of the audience. Because it's about every person in general. About humans and what it really means to be
one. That's why the value of this cartoon is SO high in my eyes - because it goes beyond simple entertainment
and pastime, even beyond art in general. This work is an outpouring, an emanation of the human spirit and human nature, first on the pages of the book, and then on the screens. Such things do not happen very often in this
world. That's why I rate the story of Roz so highly - at the very first place. At least in my heart.
Thank you for your patience ❤️

Man, I love Greg reacting to heartwarming movies like this, he made comments about John being more empathetic than him but I feel Greg is oversimplifying himself, movies and shows like this is where we get to see the empathetic side of him and it's great to see. He's a great role model of positive masculinity, not afraid to show emotion and talk about the hard topics with a caring viewpoint. Would honestly love to see him and John sit down and react to Bluey, children shows and movies adults can still learn from. love y'all's channel keep up the good work.

I know that a lot of people are expecting Inside Out 2 to win Best Animated Feature next year but it would be nice for once that DreamWorks Animation movie won Best Animated Feature thanks to The Wild Robot. I read the book in my middle school. Even though I knew what would happen in the book, it still blew my expectations. The animation really helped to bring so much emotions out of every scene. Yes parenthood is a main theme, but there is also themes about community, being a outsider, and how anyone can be part of a family. I almost cried once, and Roz is my favorite fictional robot. She has a character arc throughout the movie that I haven't seen in other fictional robots. ❤❤❤

The movie is a lot about chosen family and i'm currently in a point in my life where I'm thrown deep into work, I'm seperated from my blood family by long distance and the people I've gotten close to over the years have also moved away to different countries and cities.
