So can you tell me what you had to do to repair this? I have 1 like it that doesn't run and it seems like a common problem with these movements. Thanks
This clock got me into mantel clocks. I now have a Medbury 6W and am very happy. Got it for an absolute steal for $100. It is in such good condition that it even has the original price tag from 1960.
Maybe try taking out the movement, get a different escapement piece or wheel whatever it is called... when you get the new escapement piece or wheel, put the movement back in and see if that works.
i got one like this but a sessions 1847 time and strike but it chime is jammed and pendulum thing that attaches to escape wheel broke can yo try to start the clock by flicking the balance wheel and oiling the clock and pull out mechanism and dismantle and service it and put it back together if can i want hear this ticking
It wouldn’t run due to a piece in the escapement platform that was missing. There was no way I would be able to get that piece out and put a new one in it.
A lot of the newer Westminster chime clocks have 3 key holes. One is for the westminster chime itself, one is for the time, and the other one is for the hourly strike. The other one you are talking about has 2 key holes. One runs the whole chime and the other one is for time. Thanks for asking
On this clock, I am not too sure. When the escapement moves, the first gear that makes the clock tick doesn’t move and we are unsure why. So I do not know if I can help. If there is a repair shop near you, you can go there Sorry

Get some lubricated oil made for clocks, might need oiled. I had the same problem with one of my clocks and bought some lubricated oil off from eBay. If that doesn't work, might have to take it to a clock repair shop.
I have the exact same clock to but I don't understand how this video it says that it's not working clearly the chimes are working perfectly fine my problem is the hour of the time is wrong it's now wrong by about eight hours I have definitely done something to it to offset it I'm afraid I'm going to have to take it to the clock shop but I'm trying to avoid that it's very frustrating to see videos of this exact same clock that I got given to for my mother it was her clock about 30 years ago which was given to her as a 10th anniversary present for my parents is marriage I love this clockI just want it to work properly but not a single video with this clock is showing me exactly how to set up the time or fix it it's very frustrating
The thing is I got this from someone who works at a landfill and someone dropped this clock off and the guy gave it to me so no wonder it doesn't run. I tried to fix it but was unsucessfull
Update:
This clock has since been fixed as of October 2021.

@@marktitlover I had to completely replace the movement. That’s pretty much all I had to do.
Yay!

That’s a great deal!
Maybe the pendulum crutch needs adjustment as well.
Well this clock has the movement with the escapement that is on Howard Miller movements
I would say that if this had a balance wheel, it could be loose.

Ok thanks for the info

You get the pendulum moving ticks for 5 seconds then stops

I have some oil and tried it but it did not work
Do you have something to fix that Seth Thomas clock
I tried fixing it but the main problem with it is that it does not want to tick
Clock TV omg is there something that it can tick
I don’t know what you mean
Clock TV like do you have a key or something to fix that smith Thomas clock
Winding it won’t help. T didn’t have a key when I got it. I used a key I had in the shop and it chimes but there is something wrong with the ticking
