Great video covering exactly what I needed to know 👍 There’s the same clock in my local charity shop that I’m interested In buying. Now I know why the pendulum keeps stopping!! 😳
The clock is still out of beet but only by a little bit. The movement needs to taken out of the case and properly cleaned and serviced so that it sounds really good again.
Thank you, but I still don't understand how the pendulum mechanism compensates for uneven surfaces by pushing the bar left and right. Is there some inner mech in that bar?
Thanks for the demonstration! Those Tambour clocks seem to have more resonance than other designs.

It moves the anchor on its axis
Do you still have this clock? It may need a little work. The chimes were not functioning properly on the hour strike.
thanks
