Thank you for this video very helpful. Awesome find at radio shack. Store closing so mine was forty cents. Tip: undo wires and push bulb out like he did, don't bother trying to pull it out with pliers.

272-1092 #7219 for the AC and 194 for the shifter.
the ac lights came from radio shack and the shifter from the auto parts store.

These bulbs are still working. I guess they do the trick.

What’s the part number for the heat control unit small micro bulb? Radio shack is closed now any idea where can I buy them? I wish you show us how to change them and wire them properly. Do I have to weld those little wires after installing the micro bulb?

Finally got the shifter light replaced !!!! What an ordeal !!! Mine is in a plastic cover underneath the shifter gear indicator. It wouldn't come off until I loosened the 2 screws on the shifter handle , must have been a good 1 1/2 to 2 hours before I got the light in and put the shifter cover back. The heat bulb was easy . Very crappy design !! Must have save a least $100 bucks. The 1729 bulb is $5.75 for 2 at the Source.

These were not LEDs. The voltage range for the bulbs is 0 to 12 volts. You can put LEDs directly in but mind the bias voltage. You wont start brightening up on the fader until you get above the bias voltage of the led.

So... what if I break the plastic?

Good point. Break away. I just figure it's better to try to keep it as intact as possible.

Oh, you mean you broke it and don't have another... go to the junk yard or call LKQ and have them pull the part. You may have to get the entire assembly just to get the bulb, but it will probably still be cheaper than getting it from the dealer.

I broke the plastic portion around the bulb...... I had to buy a new bulb with the plastic around it... Cost me 32 bucks for the 1 light. Only the dealership had it. This is a cautionary tale..

I had mine apart for the shifter light and the 3 lights on the heater control . Couldn't get the shifter bulb it didn't just fall out . Looks like I may have to turn it and pull . Now I just have one light for the heater direction control working . The switches for Recirculated Air , A/C and Rear Defrost are damned impossible to change bulbs for. How do you get at them ?? Damn Nissan !!!!

This is what I'm wondering too. The bulb for my A/C button has gone out, and can't see how to replace them.
