Fun fact, and as I commented on this video, the guitar tracks were recorded through a Rockman headphone amplifier that was designed by Tom Scholz of the band Boston. Buckethead is also known for using Rockman headphone amps and a Rockman head to record. Its a great clean tone platform
Anthony Michael Hall played Mutt Lange in the movie Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story. For anyone curious about the band or their music from band’s conception and early success, please check this one out. It’s one thing to know Rick lost his arm in a car accident, it’s quite another to watch a band involved reenactment. Same with Joe Elliot’s voice that was tweaked by Mutt Lange to go up and scream that high because it makes the song better (lyrical production value from a producer). They grew up and developed as a band together in the hopes of being like Led Zeppelin one day. 40 years later, they still, Rock It! Yeah! One of my go-to favs of theirs to listen to is Women, oh and Two Steps Behind and Love Bites and Let’s Get Rocked and…. Uh, Oops 🤭😂
One of my absolute favorites of theirs. It's so vibey. If the 80s had a smell, this would be it. Takes me back every time I hear it. Asia always trying to keep it G and BJ just wandering off...😂
Reminds me so much of my 8th grade year. This song was all over the radio. I was a punk at heart, but great music like this had no boundaries no matter who or what music you listened to.
This is my all time favorite song from Def Leppard. Everytime it comes on I turn the volume all the way up. And you just cannot go wrong with this gtoup.
So happy when they came back after Ricks crash and released this kind of quality. Stage in the middle of the floor. Ricks new sci-fi drum set (for the time it was). They were still great in concert and sounded perfect. Tesla opened the show supporting their first killer release so the energy was awesome and the crowd filled with babes. Good album of music
To me the lyrics always seemed to be sung from the perspective of a guy falling so hard for someone that it scared him sh*tless. (Similar to the sentiment in Love Bites, actually). That’s how it came across at the time: As a sign of a band maturing a bit and not just being about the booty call. Musically it also sounded very left field for a band considered to be, if not heavy metal then at least a hard rock band. Those dense backing vocal stacks would soon influence American R&B music production by the way. It’s always a beautiful thing when different genres pollinate each other, I think.
Anytime anyone asks me, ‘what’s this Def Leppard song about?’, my answer is the same… Sex and Love in Desperation with a PopRock vibe (bang, sway, shout, dance).
That is what the lyrics talk about but actually the band’s inspiration was a spiritual epiphany. The song was actually about a religious/spiritual experience.
This is my absolute favorite Def Leppard song! It’s so good! Fun fact: Def Leppard has really-recorded some of their songs with Royal Philharmonic and will release it in a couple of months. They already released the single “Animal” and it is awesome! Y’all should check it out! 💜
Back then… Duran Duran got a nearly live first reaction from the fans and mtv viewers with their Reflex video. It was the coolest thing I’d seen in a music video up to that point (unexpected). Gotta throw a hat tip to the Power Station too 🎩
@@AsiaandBJ You're most welcome. If you want to check out their HOTTEST song ever - please react to Tonight. I don't think anyone has done it - but they are missing out. Would LOVE to see your reaction to it :)
This whole album is fire!! I saw them in concert after they came back from the drummer losing his arm. Talk about insane. He didn’t miss a beat. It was unbelievable the way he relearned how to play the drums. Absolutely amazing!!
This was the first Def leopard album I owned when I was at secondary school.i played it on repeat.still a fav. Sometimes you just need some Def leopard!
BJ- "It's magical." Asia- "Hahaha! What??" Uh-oh. I hope no issues are going on. 😉 Just kidding. Seriously, I love this song and album. I especially loved the smooth, solos. Nothing blazing and wild. Very emotional to match the tunes. Rest in peace, our Def Leppard brother, Steve Clark. You are missed.
Love that constant smile and head bobbing BJ. You can really tell when ya'll are liking something. So dang cute! Can't go wrong with Def Leppard! I love watching them live from back in the day.
Always love your reactions you two. And I Always loved this song from Def Leppard - the melody is really nice and the layering of those guitars is just perfection. And it always nice to see a couple that seems to have such a great relationship. Y’all are great.
This song y’all it kills me every time! Not a huge Def Leppard fan…but this one jams in the car to this day. Got that Bose stereo pumping that bass…oh it’s brimstone to this day! Oh and you always know when Asia and BJ like something…Asia with that smile that kills ya and BJ never stops moving…that’s why I love you too so much! My husband doesn’t watch any music anything..but I got him to watch you two because i stumbled into this reaction from you guys of beastie boys and now Rick watches all your reactions as well. He loves BJ and the “HE AINT” in Billie Jean reaction. He was laughing so hard nothing came out. Neither one of us watch any other reaction channel but you two. We both love it. We go to TH-cam to see a video if we want to see something from old school days..but never watch TH-cam. You two are great!

You two are awesome. Your love for each other shines thru on every episode and watching it is amazing. My hubby and I are going on 36 yrs this month and we are both 70's/80's generation. Asia, do a re-reaction to Fleetwood Mac's Tusk but find the official video. You will be sitting straight up in your chair! A tip for your 80's videos, especially the rock videos. Find the official videos if you can. Most bands from that decade made mini movies for their songs. We were a cheesy generation.🤣 Love you both!
Brings me back to my fire fighting days with the USFS in Happy Camp, Ca. Always hitting the pizza joint, playing music on the jukebox and drinking beer. Cheers
Hysteria, my most favorite album ever, tied with "Dark Side of the Moon". Whole album is fire! Thank you beautiful Asia and BJ! I've seen them twice, and going to again since they're still touring.
One of my favs. The band is so good... i remember during the Grunge era... some young people that preferred bands such as "smashing pumpkins" laughed at Def Leopard. Well TIME has shown us the truth.... Def Leopard's music is basically TIMELESS.... and the Pumpkins have essentially been, "SMASHED" over time.
they just have so many great songs its kinda ridiculous . 🤘🏼 have you checked out some early stuff. High and Dry, Me and my Wine, Let it Go , Bringing on the Heartbreak. they were like 15-17 years old on their early stuff . thanks for always bringing a smile to my face. love you guys 💓🤘🏼
That is one of the best guitar solos ever produced for rock recording. It was crafted for the song and is perfect for it. No, it is not virtuosity, but fits so perfectly in the pocket and sounds so good.
I know you guys love Boston so I know you will like their song We're Ready . . . . . absolutely awesome, and technically part of a three concerto. It's followed by The Launch that leads into Cool the Engines and then My Destination. The Launch is epically epic!
This is my first time listening to you guys. Really enjoyed your reaction! Just an FYI, if you haven’t read anything about this bands history you are in for a ride. The poor guys have been to heck and back. They are my favorite!
This album is awesome!!...They ROCKED ATLANTA LAST YEAR...!!!...In the POURING rain no less..😂❤...My Husband and I had an AMAZING time...Thanks Asia and BJ for the amazing selection "Gotta know" U2 are the Best!!!
I used to have the CD with this song on it and would listen to it on my Walkman (I’m dating myself, I know) headphones in bed at night and this song would just swim around in my head.
One of the greatest selling albums of all time. And yet still my 3rd favorite of their albums. High and Dry #1, Pyromania #2. IF you haven't done "Bringing on A HeartBreak" that's a different type of love song.
You know when these two like a song, Asia has that permanent smile that lights up , while BJ can't stop nodding his head 😂.
I love this band! I never get tired of listening to them. They're part of my DNA.
Amen!
This!! ☝🏻💁🏻♀️
Our satellite of love 🫶🏻
The guitar layers on this song are sublime. I've always loved this song.
You are correct, sir. It gives the song such great texture.
Fantastic song choice!!! You both got it!❤
Steve Clark R.I.P. 😢
Fun fact, and as I commented on this video, the guitar tracks were recorded through a Rockman headphone amplifier that was designed by Tom Scholz of the band Boston. Buckethead is also known for using Rockman headphone amps and a Rockman head to record. Its a great clean tone platform
The model is the Rockman X100 headphone amp with the chorus setting on
Whole album is a masterpiece.
FACTS!
Top 5 album
This album is just perfection 👍🏻🎸🎤🎼
FACTS!
Just can't get enough of the sweet sound of Steve Clark's guitar 🎸❤😍🎼
RIP ....625!
One of the best selling albums of all time.
Lame music from a lame music era
One of the few that went Diamond.
Mutt Lange definetly knew how to produce the band so that the band played all they had in to this unique sounding record. Greetings from Finland!
Anthony Michael Hall played Mutt Lange in the movie Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story.

@@DeAnne1233Bang a gong was a great cover!
This song always reminds me of summer driving early in the morning to the beach. It's one of the best driving songs ever created.
One of my top favourite DL songs. So glad you guys found it. Hugs from Canada! :)
Awesome! Thank you!

BJ is da man!!
Not many rock songs have feeling. This reminds me of "Love Bites" from Def Lep
This is one of those songs that is even better when you watch the music video.
Man this is like the perfect song! 🥰 thanks Asia and BJ !!
Love that constant smile and head bobbing BJ. You can really tell when ya'll are liking something. So dang cute! Can't go wrong with Def Leppard! I love watching them live from back in the day.
Robert John Mutt Lange the producer was a creative mastermind in the 80s.
Fav song, fav album, saw this tour in the round!!!
Ooooh, the memories!! ❤🎉🥳
Lol, seen this group too many times!! 😂
..I wasn't a fan of the band or paid attention to the song on the radio..but this takes me back to my early youth and I was happy 💭❤️
Takes me back every time. My very first concert that I saw live during their Pyromania tour. Love them!
An absolute 80’s masterpiece 🤙🏻😁
This album was so amazing. This is my favorite song of many of theirs that I loved growing up to. They made the best rock ballads, period.
Song still gets me! Favorite all time album.
This is the first album the produced after Rick lost his arm and probably the best album they made as well.
It's hard to describe how big this was in the 80's...HUGE....!
Asia, I’m still humming or singing along with your introduction song every time I stop by.

Probably my favorite song of theirs. 👍👍👍😎
I actually got to see them on the Hysteria Tour when I was stationed in Alaska. They were playing in Anchorage.
BJ: right on dude.
Baby making music
Yeah this whole album is fire! Mostly the musicians but Mutt Lange(genius) produced so many artists! And Shania Twain. Boy fucked that up!
Saw them on my 25th birthday 1988...❤

The device they used for the chorus was built buy the founder and lead guitarist of Boston

Great concert
I LOVE Def Leppard !!!!! ♥️♥️♥️
My dad met my mother while playing this album.
Their ears: " So this is what good music sounds like!!"

After you hear it, then you realize why that was their #1 song. It's pure 🔥.
This has always been my favorite Def Leppard song. It's kind of a melancholy song for me.
Awesome song
Oh this is another of their massive hit goodies .Off their epic alum, also called “Hysteria.” 💖💙🙂👍
Next time they are in Dallas, it’s great people watching. How many 50+ people trying to fit back in their leather pants
The late great Steve Clark always made magical guitar sections and solos... :)

1987 Hysteria was perfect. That year had more hits in records and movies than in a long long time....icons

Great tune. Fantastic song.
Wild how a song this big has a guitar track recorded through a $100 headphone amp designed by the lead guitarist of the band Boston
Love them!
Love Def Leppard!
Rick Allen with those drums, I just love it.
Favorite Leppard song. ❤️🤘
Please do "Animal" !!!! :D love the post reaction commentary LOLL
This whole album is 🔥 start to finish
I love playing this on guitar. My top band on my list!
This album was recorded using the tech Tom Scholz of Boston invented. Def Leppard aren't the only ones.
My favorite album of theirs
Smooth as butter. Funny thing... the next song is Excitable, the natural progression.
This will always be my favorite band.
This album was there MetallicA black album. It was a total change for them.
