I'll be honest, I hated Sonix' gameplay most of the times, but lately, he's become much more enjoyable to watch, with daring plays and precise knowledge to set up combos, edgeguards and frame traps. I was among the first ready to comment "spindash from one ledge to the other until the opponent gets hit zzzzzz", but now I acknowledge the effort and skill.

My man Sonix fought hard but Light is on another level. Loved the aggression in this set. The combos and strings on both sides were phenomenal. Made me appreciate Sonic a ton, now.
Everyone, please stop hating on Sonix just because he mains a character you don't like. Give the man some credit. He placed 4th at a tournament we all dreamed to place well at. Everyone calling him a bum for placing top 4 at an incredibly-stacked supermajor needs to realize that Sonix would demolish them incredibly easily. People hate on him for playing campy, but still hate on him when he goes full aggro lol. It doesn't matter how he plays; he gets hate. This tournament revealed that extremely well and its sad how low the community fallen in this regard. I don't care how boring you think the sets are. If you're going so low as to rip at a player for just playing optimally to win a tournament, just know that with that mentality you aren't getting anywhere. I'm not sugarcoating it. This community can be so ridiculous when it comes to character hate.

@@Elitist Nah Fox hates being boxed in on & hella struggles against being in a defecit against Sonic, because this mu is extremely momentum based, so dealing with Fox quickly is the safest (optimal) route to take.
You saw how extreme Game's 1 & 3 were in Sonix's favour, despite the end result of the set.
This mu is all kinds of whack lmfao.
This was one of the most enjoyable Sonic sets I've ever seen. Crazy how much more exciting of a character Sonic is when played this way. I usually skip Sonix videos in tourneys but I wanted to watch Light so I figured I'd grind through this one but it was actually a blast to watch. I hope Sonix plays this way more often because I didn't hate the experience like I usually do.

I love how fox is considered an "unfavorable match up" because he has the speed to counter this degenerate playstyle. "iTs a LegITamAtE pLaYstYle" im aware. But its bad for a sport so dependent on spectators. Thank god theres really only one sonic player that makes top 8s. I completely stopped watching MK11 tourneys because of the abundance of Cetrions.

Fox is a bad mu for way more than that his move set borderline automatically punishes Sonic and once Sonic is in the air he’s a sitting duck for fox Sonic can’t get off the ledge and camping isn’t that effective vs fox cause of lasers and speed. The only reason this isn’t a +3 mu is cause of the edge guarding and disadvantage state for fox

Sonix playstyle makes him top 8 in almost all the tournaments he participates and that is what we should appreciate. Boring or not he is a top 8 player. Everyplayer got his own playstyle, Sonix does too. Haters will not be agreed with my comment.
Exactly. He is insanely consistent. Many players who go aggressive 24/7 are NOT consistent and get easily read, hence why Sonix doesn't go full aggro 24/7 like these haters says he should. Even the top rushdown mains don't get completely aggressive in a match against another good player. It's not optimal. You can get away with mashing against your average online sweat but at top level play you can't be swinging just for the crowd.
I don’t think people will disagree with him being a great at the game, people hate him bc his sets for the most part are not enjoyable to watch (for example vs gluto)

That was weak Bair for Sonix in game 3 and light probably pulled himself into the side BlastZone by using Side Special cuz just the same as Sonic's Side B it pulls back a bit before releasing forward it's why Sonic gets KOed when using SpinDash on Kalos when launched Horizontally and there was no KO screen...

Agreed. Sonix played extremely well. He's not playing to hype up the crowd, he's playing to win. Plus as a Sonic main I know how unsafe it is to be full on aggro for too long. Sonic explodes if he gets hit since he's so light. Most of the time Sonix is playing exactly how he should with the character. Sometimes he camps too much, and sometimes he goes too aggro. We see in this tournament and that's why he lost. Still amazing achievement to make it 4th.
