Cool video of the girl laying her eggs and trying to retrieve it to set on it.

Awesome. I'm having problems with chickens eating the eggs. My coop is set up for collecting the eggs from the outside. Watched all kinds of videos. Thanks. I'm glad you mentioned about them reaching the eggs. My wife said they couldn't reach that far. Your video showed they reach REAL far in. And get the eggs. Again thanks. It gives me a great starting point.

Love love love watching you figure it out and build like a normal person!!! So helpful. Best video Ive found yet on the subject! I had yet to find a video where chickens enter from one side and eggs roll to other. So glad I found someone else who did it this way and now I know it will work.

With the cost of eggs these days, it hurts when you go out and see where they’ve been eating eggs. Fixn to upgrade my nest box like this. Thanks!

A couple of things about chickens and nesting. Yes, they do not mind (possibly even prefer) nesting together. However, if you have a strong pecking order in the flock, have at least one separate box or compartment for those at the bottom of the pecking order. For your nesting box, just the one divider in the middle, would have been fine.
Yes, they like to roll other eggs under themselves, this is common. Sort of like an inbuilt habit.
The bit of tin you put on the top is a bad idea. They tend to jump up on things, and would therefore cut their feet and get infected.

Really? No measurements? And your not going to show step by step ......but instead your going to construct most of it off camera and just assume everyone knows what you did and how you did it?
I so hate these DIY tutorials where the person does so much off camera.....then just assumes you can figure out the steps they did off camera....and then have the nerve to insinuate it's a tutorial in the name of the video.
Oh well....on to the next one

Firstly, I thought about your feedback and accept that much work was done off camera only to be reviewed on camera. I was making up the design as I went and kept revising design decisions before I would be satisfied. I didn't want to waste your time with all of the trial and error steps so instead showed the final implementation of each step.
Your profile has no uploaded videos. Perhaps you may not be aware that recording and editing extends the length of any project by 2 to 3 times. Making videos is not simply "record it and then upload". Perfect videos often have a whole production team involved with camera people, video editors and marketing/strategy people. I am a one person show. Still, I will strive to improve based on your feedback for other videos because my goal has always been to share quality information to accelerate your projects more than if you had not watched my video.

@@mrdiyguy123 "my profile has no uploaded videos"........what does that have to do with anything???
It is not my life's ambition to be a tutor on TH-cam, that does not mean I can not watch and comment.... with my own opinion..... about other tutorial videos on TH-cam. And I am far from being the only one in this world who comes to TH-cam to watch tutorials and or get ideas for their own project needs.
I was only stating my own personal opinion (which I think I am entitled to)....that if your wanting to do video tutorials, that you can't do a lot of your project off camera and expect your viewers to know what has been done or how. If you want people to like and subscribe.....keep that in mind.
Oh yeah, and most amateur videos on TH-cam do not have a whole production team........

You're comment is pretty rude and it doesn't say it's a tutorial. It says DIY meaning he did it himself and you can watch the video and get some ideas on how to do a similar design. I watched this and now know how to do it myself. Not to mention it would be different for each individual coop depending on size and needs.
