Witch hazel, ichthammol, domeboro...love to see these more old-fashioned skin remedies being promoted again. Used to sell these years ago (mid-70s!) at the drugstore where I worked, and they were considered a bit old-fashiioned then, too, but--they WORKED! 😆

I absolutely Love your channel!!! You give the best advice of any derm I've known in my 65 years & it's always so helpful no matter what the problem is.
That comment about the Ichthammol Ointment is also spot on as I've used it for years. It also helps with drawing cysts open as well as one of my old dermatologists suggested to me to use.
I also discovered Sarna Lotion for relieving severely itchy skin when I wound up with Jaundice from a gall stone stuck in a bile duct that made me scratch myself to the point I looked like I'd been fighting with a rose bush! 😂 But that was the only thing I found to help relieve that itching.
Thank you so much for being here & always giving us such Great advice!! 💜💜💜

For 2 years I have asked my doctor about the maddening itch in the middle of my back, which is worse in the middle of the night. There is no indication of a rash, other than the irritation of rubbing with a towel. He continues to suggest hydrocortisone cream, cool showers, and to stop scratching with a towel. When you mentioned nostalgia parenthetical I went back and watched that segment 3 times, and wow, could my symptoms have a name, and possibly a treatment? Now I can go back to my doctor with this information, and hopefully get some relief. Thank you so much for your very informative videos!

I have never had shingles. I’ve had the shingles vaccine last year, so I hope to never experience that agony. My heart goes out to those that have suffered. My GP is usually very attentive, but skin is simply not his area of expertise. We have very few deems in British Columbia, and the wait list for non-cancerous concerns is over 1 year.

For all you chicken owners; If your chicken's comb gets a white"fungus" it is ringworm and I forget the actual name off the top of my head BUT that foot cream, can be applied to the chickens comb. I have such a rooster. I have the Walmart brand foot cream The tricky part is applying it; the best time is @ night while they are perched.

It strips my skin in an incredibly harsh way. I found that out in the WORST way when I was instructed to use it pre-surgery a few years back and I wound up with areas that were so bad it was like a chemical burn… lemme tell ya, when your Doc says to wash between your bum cheeks and you end up with a raw butthole post surgery, it sucks hard.
Yes, it works and it’s better than a staph infection by far, but it’s not for super sensitive skin, IMO.

Usually had more in winter, but now I still have it and it's summer. I moisturize as much as I can, but can't do all the time, like after every time I wash my hands. Could be a type of eczema. Why do the soles of my feet get so dry and cracked? Could it be due to fungus? Would that cheap anti-fungal cream from the dollar store work? O’Keeffe’s for healthy feet cream with something called “GUARANTEED RELIEF” seems to help a little but it takes too long to rub it in.

I think that I have a legitimate question about lower-than-3% AV levels in chemical 'screens, and how that must make a weak ingredient weaker. (Culprits: Banana Boat, Hawaiin Tropic, and others). Also, FAR-less-than-10% amounts of Zinc in some physical 'screens....how can that possibly protect you, especially from UVA. I Wish I could get an answer, because CeraVe and others on the CSR line have no idea what I'm talking about.

Is it specifically Loratidine that is helpful in conjunction with accutane or would any second-generation antihistamine (such as Fexofenadine or Levocetirizine) work similarly?

Dr Dray has at least a couple videos on sunscreen allergies, sunscreen allergic reactions and rashes and 10 reasons why sunscreen fails.
