I love mineral oil or baby oil. Whether it's solid and it's like Vaseline or it's in the oil form it is so multi-use. It's too bad that it's been fear mongered.
In regards to ear wax, when I worked in a PCP office we would use liquid Colace (the laxative) to break up really stubborn balls of ear wax. We would send people home with it and then we’d have them soak some more in our office (basically just fill the ear canal and sit with it for 5-10 min) before we would use a water pick to help irrigate it out and it would come out looking essentially like diarrhea. Lol very satisfying though, to go from having a huge obstruction in the ear to actually being able to see the ear drum. It’s inexpensive and it works!
Soak the liquid Colace in each ear for 5-10 minutes at least once, preferably more times if they had big hunks of wax. People can get big, dense pieces that are as big as the first knuckle of your thumb and there’s no way we can break that down in one office setting without applying a lot of very painful, irritating pressure to the sensitive tissues inside the ear. Much better to break it down over multiple sessions. Put the Colace in your ear and lay with your head flat in a bed or couch to keep it fully in there until you are done soaking then let it fall out into a paper towel and do the other ear.
No it’s not good for her. The pH of baking soda is much higher than facial skin and can be really drying and irritating. Have her try vanicream or any other dr dray suggestions.
Good morning Dr Dray ❤ 0:26 TMI alert ... just came from the Doctor. He want me to use mineral oil for the wax in my ears and return on next Thursday 6:40
@@DrDrayzdayGreat video! Thank you. I have used a Qtip in my ears for decades everyday after showering to better clean n dry them. Carefully tho. Maybe bc I have a wet wax it hasn’t caused the buildup. But I get it! I worked for J&J in past for 10yrs so used to get their baby oil, Aveeno lotion, Qtips at wholesale prices from company store. Miss the discounts. Prices are so high now!
I get liquid lanolin from iherb at a better price. I rarely use it, except in teensy amounts in a couple DIY blends, but in these montana winters, it works well in combination with petrolatum, mineral oil, shea butter, etc.
Ily 🫶🏼 What do you think about the dr.scholl's ingrown treatment? Im curious about the safety of the ingredient. Also I would love a video on at home epilators 💘
Btw, can't believe this never caught on, but monistat anti chafing gel (completely unrelated to their antifungal products) is a cheap, pore filling, very moisturizing, mattifying primer.
Omg my people! TH-cam Muas ftw! I didn’t find the Nivea men drying at all! And I got dry eczema prone skin . It was heavily scented though. I remember milk of magnesia, not Miralax specifically though
Milk of magnesia is a fantastic underarm deodorant. You will still sweat but won’t have an odor. I use a generic type that only contains magnesium hydroxide, purified water, sodium hypochlorite and xanthan gum.
❤We use milk of magnesia on ostomy wounds skin breakdown. The ones that don’t protrude enough can leak gastric fluids and develop a lot of peri wound skin problems, especially when there’s a VaC wound adjacent (the tegaderm dressing can irritate). And topical mag with D is the best to quickly heal up scalp psoriasis so I can get a haircut. 😊
Do you have a good recommendation for a fragrance free antiperspirant-deodorant now that Vanicream is out of stock? I’ve tried Almay and don’t like it and there’s literally nothing else on the market. Everything else is “unscented” and even that isn’t easy to find. I read the ingredients on other “clinical strength” antiperspirants/deodorants that are labeled “free and clear” for sensitive skin and they all have fragrance. I do benzoyl peroxide but I miss the comfortably dry, non irritating feeling of Vanicream. I’ve checked many local drug stores and none of the major brands make an actual fragrance free antiperspirant deodorant. Major gap in the market.
There's one called Certain Dri that she and other derms have recommended. There's DuraDry but not sure if that's available in the drugstore. I've seen another derm recommend Lume (they have unscented).
I was so excited to try and use the vanicream one because I don’t like the almay one either. Aaand then in goes out of stock. Same with their zbar. They need to figure this stuff out asap ! MAJOR gap. Dr dray if you’re going to make a product, plz make a ff antiperspirant! ❤

Speaking of skin picking, can you do a session on dermatillomania?
I think she has a video on this. Not sure if she has a specific one (try search) but she did talk about it a few months back on a video regarding mental health
I love mineral oil or baby oil. Whether it's solid and it's like Vaseline or it's in the oil form it is so multi-use. It's too bad that it's been fear mongered.
Would be a bad idea to put a hydro patch on a wart for a few hours?
They make specific wart patches with salicylic acid. Not sure about a hydrocolloid though
I found the mustela cream at tj max for cheap! Really love it!
I need to look
Fragrance free mineral oil on your back during the winter in Northern climes is the best ever.
I bought that same mineral oil size bottle at Target it was only 2.29 😊I have itchy ear canals and dryness and it helps so much!
Thanks Dr Dray for the recommendation on using mineral oil for dry itchy ear canals it’s been helping me 😊
@@joanshealy1662 My ENT’s assistant also suggested mineral oil for my ears because I has some dry skin. Great suggestion!
I always learn so much from your shopping videos about products & I appreciate it! TFS! Have a great weekend! 🥰
Mineral oil helps to soften the edges of my wrinkles.
My husband has to wear compression stockings. I found a video on TH-cam about a easier way to put them on
What is it? My mom hates them cuz they’re so tight
You should do video for baby skincare newborn/ toddler
In regards to ear wax, when I worked in a PCP office we would use liquid Colace (the laxative) to break up really stubborn balls of ear wax. We would send people home with it and then we’d have them soak some more in our office (basically just fill the ear canal and sit with it for 5-10 min) before we would use a water pick to help irrigate it out and it would come out looking essentially like diarrhea. Lol very satisfying though, to go from having a huge obstruction in the ear to actually being able to see the ear drum. It’s inexpensive and it works!
😮
What would they do at home?
Soak the liquid Colace in each ear for 5-10 minutes at least once, preferably more times if they had big hunks of wax. People can get big, dense pieces that are as big as the first knuckle of your thumb and there’s no way we can break that down in one office setting without applying a lot of very painful, irritating pressure to the sensitive tissues inside the ear. Much better to break it down over multiple sessions. Put the Colace in your ear and lay with your head flat in a bed or couch to keep it fully in there until you are done soaking then let it fall out into a paper towel and do the other ear.
@@NurseHallauer what if we don’t have huge chunks of wax and are experiencing ear irritation due to eczema though?
I used Mustela for my rainbow baby ❤. He’s almost 9 now.
So much great info! Thank you ☺️
Thanks dear Dr Dray 👋👋❤️🎉
Is mineral oil good to put on seborheic dermatitis?
Kind of want to try the Dermend on my face 🤔
Yea but too much $
I use knee-high stockings in place of compression stocking and they work quite well. Way less expensive too.
Knee highs are just socks though. Where’s the compression coming from
Thank you, Dr. Dray!😊
Hey- my mom 64, has been using pure baking soda to wash her face for the past couple weeks. Is that ok?
No it’s not good for her. The pH of baking soda is much higher than facial skin and can be really drying and irritating. Have her try vanicream or any other dr dray suggestions.
Thank you for all your info!
Love this hair to the side and long. and makeup is natural looking. 😊
Good morning Dr Dray ❤
0:26 TMI alert ... just came from the Doctor. He want me to use mineral oil for the wax in my ears and return on next Thursday 6:40
it really helps!
PS I do not put Q tips in my ears...ever.
@@itsshaunarenee1538that’s awesome. I do the same to clean my ears.
I get liquid lanolin from iherb at a better price. I rarely use it, except in teensy amounts in a couple DIY blends, but in these montana winters, it works well in combination with petrolatum, mineral oil, shea butter, etc.

What do you think about the dr.scholl's ingrown treatment? Im curious about the safety of the ingredient. Also I would love a video on at home epilators 💘
Who remembers using MiraLax as a mattifying primer in the 2000's 😂 right before Nivea Men Aftershave hahahah. Can confirm - they are both DRYING
Btw, can't believe this never caught on, but monistat anti chafing gel (completely unrelated to their antifungal products) is a cheap, pore filling, very moisturizing, mattifying primer.
@@standdownrobots_ihaveoldgloryI definitely used that as a makeup primer 😂
Omg my people! TH-cam Muas ftw! I didn’t find the Nivea men drying at all! And I got dry eczema prone skin . It was heavily scented though.
I remember milk of magnesia, not Miralax specifically though
@@standdownrobots_ihaveoldglorywhat’s the active ingredient?
Thank you! I’m going to try it on my eczema skin! What brand sells topical magnesium creams?
But milk of magnesia is also recommended for oily skin as a makeup primer I’m guessing cuz it absorbs oil? Thoughts?
I used Mustela for my son when he was a baby, the best ever. A bit on the expensive side though
The product she showed was $36 😮
Do you have a good recommendation for a fragrance free antiperspirant-deodorant now that Vanicream is out of stock?
I like Sure unscented. I know it’s not fragrance free but it’s the closest I’ve found and hasn’t bothered me. Super cheap too
I was so excited to try and use the vanicream one because I don’t like the almay one either. Aaand then in goes out of stock. Same with their zbar. They need to figure this stuff out asap !
MAJOR gap. Dr dray if you’re going to make a product, plz make a ff antiperspirant! ❤
What 40% urea for moisture? Especially for the feet that are extremely dry. Thanks
Cetaphil rough and bumpy is 20%
