We can only hope for great things from James Gunn as fans. Anyone who wants him to fail is so odd to me. We all want to see the absolute best cinematic versions of these beloved characters and I think Gunn has a solid track record of quality superhero films. Superman has to be great!!!! Otherwise things will have a real rocky start 🍿

i absolutely agree with greenlighting/releasing only when scripts are ready and good enough. in my opinion it's better to change release dates and have a compelling story to tell, than to release a half-baked film simply because you have to meet a deadline. there's been a lot of mistakes from the MCU and especially the DCEU in the past to learn from, and i hope he does. i'm super hopeful and excited for the DCU and i'm confident that it'll work💕

Love your comment. There's a lot to be hopeful about. Allowing time for movies to be released based on quality as opposed to timelines will lead to a much higher quality story. It's a great time to be a DC fan. 🍿

James Gunn is good, but don’t get ahead of yourself.
DC hasn’t had an actual profitable superhero flick since the first Aquaman. And even that was by itself.
They had a multi-decade head start, and even after the last 15 years STILL haven’t been able to get a universe together - just amazing one-offs.
Even now, they plan on having two Batmans and two Jokers. Perfect for dividing any fandom.
You've got some very valid points. It's why this film has to be great. Not good but great! If the general audience can't get excited about this new universe then Gunn is going to have a real rough uphill battle reshaping the mindset of the people. No pressure. Thank you for your insights 🍿
Oh and yes, that flash commentary with Tom Cruise was definitely an oversell. It was an alright movie but nothing close to what they were describing it as. Doesn't do him any favours. Will have to just keep our fingers crossed that this new DC world can deliver.

@@larrygraham4875 I feel the same, so much worry around these characters we love so much, especially when they've had such a rocky cinematic history. The worst feeling is watching a movie you had the highest expectations for and then seeing it go downhill. I'll be crossing my fingers with you
If he took inspiration from One Punch Man, the DCU could be exciting again.
