    Thanks for the video @TOM KOS CARS. I have a 2012 3.5L gasoline Gen4. It's far less powerful than the 3.8 version (around 188 bhp). Seat comfort is average, but the driving position is high with excellent visibility. Fuel consumption is high (4.8 km per 1 litre on 95 octane fuel). Road noise and cabin vibrations are a real issue with mirrors vibrating so bad I could barely tell what kind of car is behind on highway speeds :) . This is felt on bad surfaces even at low speeds (the last bit of the video shows what I mean). I consulted several people but everyone just told me the same thing: This is normal in a Pejero as it is built more for off-road driving.
    If anyone has succeeded in making the ride smoother please comment.

    • @TomKosCars
      @TomKosCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I read somewhere that the 4th gen Pajero had some inherent issues with its frame carrying vibrations and noise into the body. It definitely is built more for off-road.

    • @waza3350
      @waza3350 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No it is not normal for your mirror to shack too much, if it was by design Pajero would be illegal since working mirror are madatory. There are a lot of fix for this particular issue. My Pajero 3.8 has a good ammount of KM and yet the mirror are more than stable.
      If you want to make the ride smoother, invest in Michelin tire. It's costly but it make a good difference in comfort and noise.

      Hi there, yeah I too own 3.5 petrol 6g74 engine, yup I love driving aspect of pajero off-road and on road as well-unfortunately the same cabin noise and dashboard rattles are the most annoying part, I actually took down the entire dashboard and re tightened, it did reduce noise upto 30%, but the passenger side airbag in the dash still rattles, side mirrors too give up and needs replacement or tightening - for rest of the car need complete damping metal to metal, including doors //it's high on maintenence, no doubt - but doesn't feel like giving up, just love it due to its road presence.

    • @TomKosCars

      Only low beam xenon, high beam H7 bulb on this year Pajero (2010). Maybe the facelifts have different lights. However this specific one has bi-xenon retrofitted.

    wish mine was so stable on the road. bought one but all the suspension probably needs replacing so hitting 120km/h on a motorway is already too painful for me to take (plus one of the tyres despite being brand new has some weird small bump so it is not perfectly round)

    • @TomKosCars
      @TomKosCars  ปีที่แล้ว

      For sure check the suspension, alignment and replace the tires. You don't get much feedback and the steering is vague, but it should be stable.

    Thank you.

    • @TomKosCars
      @TomKosCars  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not very good, I think it's one of the known weak points of the Pajero. Overall it is quite loud in the cabin from the engine, road noise, etc.

    IS THERE THE V8 ENGINE VERSION OF THIS CAR ?

    • @TomKosCars
      @TomKosCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately no. There was a 3.2L diesel 4 cylinder, as the one in this video and there was also a 3.8L gasoline V6. I think I once saw a video of a guy who swapped LS into the previous gen Pajero, that would be awesome

    Did you find the car comfortable?

    • @TomKosCars
      @TomKosCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      To be honest it depends a lot on what you are used to. Personally, I did not find it comfortable, however, I am used to driving lots of different cars. My main issues with Pajero are a fairly high amount of road and engine noise and a lot of vibration from the engine. This could be better in the gasoline 3.6 v6 model.
      I would not buy it to just drive it only on the roads. But the offroad capabilities are exceptional and the truck is very robust. Overall your mileage may vary based on what you are used to.

    • @yutuniopati
      @yutuniopati 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TomKosCars I have a 3.8l V6 Pajero, I was wondering if the diesel engine was comfortable. Thx for your opinion.
      Personally I found the 3.8 super comfortable on road but the main problem is really the road noise. The insulation is pretty bad in the cabin.

    • @TomKosCars
      @TomKosCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the info, I have always wondered about the gasoline one. I read somewhere that excessive road noise was a problem caused by a bad design of the body.
      I think the v6 could be more "comfortable" power-wise as well, as I find the 3.2 underpowered.

    • @yutuniopati
      @yutuniopati 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TomKosCars The 3.8 V6 is not that "powerful" (only 250Hp and 320nM for an almost 4L engine) but it give a pretty smooth ride and sometime pretty aggressive (again it's not a sport car).

      The petrol is VERY thirsty and the diesel is super fuel efficient for its size. Just keep that in mind it was a deal breaker for us
