    I'm looking forward to watching Part 2 next. I think you've done a great job so far, considering the work space you have. I especially like the homemade paint booth, but if I may make a suggestion, don't paint so many things at once, because the shroud was banging into the radiator, as you were painting it. Also, I don't know if you noticed or not, but you were losing paint out of the canister, as you were tilting the gun.
    With automotive paint & spray guns, make sure you're about 9 inches away from the object you're painting and use nice long passes, not short sprays, like from an aerosol can. I say this as someone who worked for a very well-known hot rod builder who taught me how to paint.
    Lastly, I know it probably turned out fine, but I would have replaced the #2 & #3 sleeves and pistons as well. The school of thought is that, if one was on its way out, the other two are soon to follow. If you're that far into the engine, you might as well take it all apart, hot tank the engine block, and clean out all of the oil passages with a nylon bristle brush, that way you know your engine is starting out fresh.
    Just my opinion, take it for what it's worth. Liked and subscribed.

    • @poulgammelgaard8868
      @poulgammelgaard8868  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hej Bjørn Andersen. Thank you for commenting, remember to watch part two also. Most spare parts are readily available, although the tin replacement parts you can buy, are of a very poor quality. Multi power parts are not easily available. I am still working on my tractor and video part 3 will be ready this winter I hope. If I was to do another one, I would consider not taken it all apart because all the parts takes up a lot of space, and you can get overwhelmed by the amount of work, instead I would work on parts of the tractor and finish that, before I went on to the next part. Kind Regards from Denmark.

    What is the best method for rust removal and prepping for primer and paint?

    • @poulgammelgaard8868
      @poulgammelgaard8868  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrZimma frame. On cast iron I use a wire wheel on an anglegrinder, but sometimes the wire wheel just polishes the rust without removing all of it, so therefore I uses sandpaper afterwards. In places where it is difficult to reach with the anglegrinder or if there is details in the cast, I do not want to destroy, I use sandblasting. After wirewheeling and sandblasting I apply a rust converter. Then wax and grease remover and it is ready for primer. Because I do not want to leave the bare metal for to long, I apply the first coat of primer with a brush, which is fast an easy.

      Poul Gammelgaard 17,231 hours, with no repairs, im staggered that the clutch hasnt gone on her, in the winter we use her to muck out the cows so we start her up every day and run her for about an hour, i guess that starting her up every day pumps oil around the engine daily and keeps her in good nick, i think my father changed the dynamo on her, but thats it

I am a little puzzled over the MP fitted to just a standard 3cyl,? Has someone over time tried out fitting a MP to the tractor which can be done"! Also your engine looks like you have steel liners"! where the X has chrome liners, you can see this from the length of the air pipe , to me you have a 35x for sure, Cant wait to see the next stage in your restoration and so far its looking very impressive indeed,

      Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes it is a MF 35 X super D. First 35 X was nr 302413 in 1962. This is nr 383308 from 1964. It is build with multi power originally as you can tell from the plate: SNMYW. It has cast iron liners, I do not know, if a 35x is supposed to have chrome liners.

      Jeg arbejder på det, men traktoren er mest et vinterprojekt. Næste delmål er at få den startet.

    Here's my 35X, model also 1964. Runs and goes with no problems, some gaps on lifting arms etc. but engine and transmission works propely.

      @@Jean-vz8co Don't it is not the same, the 3 cyl was a great engine the 4 cyl was not. I have owned both. The 3 cyl mf35 became the mf 135 a great tractor I had two of them on my apple orchard.
