I have a 2012 S60 T6 in red with cream leather interior. It is beautiful. But gosh, I would love to have one in "Swedish Racing Green". Wow. Love that blue.
Thanks for the review!
YAY AWESOME!
Much appreciated!
Steve! You MUST test drive the 2014 S60s when they come out in June! A number of interior updates, exterior changes, and mechanical changes will be included. The S60 gets transmission changes that shave off .3 of a second to 60 and completely new sheetmetal as well as a new infotainment system and interior.
My friend has one of these. I love it
Love that Rebel Blue paint!
Whenever the Polestar S60 comes to America, I hope you get to try it and review it. I'm not referring to the one with 508 horsepower, but the one they're actually producing with like 350 horsepower (only to Australia currently).
Love that color and would absolutely buy it in that color!
The previous gen S60 R-Design also had a flashy light-blue metallic paint job.
Great review Steve. That color reminds me of BMWs Laguna Seca Blue. Steve, do you think quality is better now that Volvo is under Chinese company, Geely, ownership?
I love this car.
This car looks like an all-round fantastic sports sedan from everything you said Steve. I am not totally sold on the paint on the computer screen - but when I see one I am sure that will change. The navigation screen looks kind of small and the interior of the car seems a little "Honda vintage" - I'm looking forward to seeing one of these on the road.
I really like how Volvo can get 325hp from this 3.0 I6 Turbo (sounds similar to BMW 35i motor) and can still work with 87 octane and a relatively good ~20mpg combined.
What John Davis was to car reviews in the 80s, Steve is to the 2k+. Keep up the best reviews on YT.
i love it
Exactly how are they dated? They're one of the most competitive cars in their segment and one of the fastest. And to top it off, the 2014 cars (coming out by mid-June) are going to have a number of mechanical, exterior, interior, and infotainment upgrades. It'll be faster thanks to transmission changes and much sleeker.
Good news for you, the V60 is coming to the US!
I for one absolutely love wagons! If it has a wagon version I would rather buy it than the sedan!
Similar blue to Ford's Grabber Blue. BMW's old Laguna Seca blue is also close. I love it, my wife doesn't. No paddle shifters on this car from what I remember. :(
volvo should either move the fogs down from the headlight cluster, or get rid of the area in the bumper that looks like it should house them.
"In 2013, Volvo will open a Chinese plant in Chengdu with capacity to make 125,000 vehicles per year. Volvo will follow up with two more plants, including another car factory in 2015.
The architecture will allow Volvo to build a variety of vehicle sizes on a single production line and will primarily underpin Volvo’s bigger cars - or those carrying the designation of “60” or higher. The XC90 SUV will be the first vehicle to roll off the platform, with sales expected to commence in late 2014.
Changes are on the way for 2014.
Its not "rebel blue" its 'Polestar Blue' aka "Swedish Racing Green"
If Volvo offered this car with a 6 speed manual, then I'd buy it, but on looks alone, it's a no
brainer.
Good to see the new Chinese owners have not cheapened out like Ford did with all its acquisitions and GM did with SAAB, must be an American thing!
Looking for for the new 4 cylinder engine and the new 8 speed transmission 2015 model year available January 2014
That's a good price for what you get.
Assuming no problems with either, S4 is the better car. This car is cheaper though and probably less common on the roads (which I think will lead to a worse resale value).
hmmm this or s4
the fog light area looks A LOT like Hyundai Sonata...
Its a shame you cant get a manual transmission
I've been driving one of these since May, the car is great. Skip the Platinum bullshit (back-up camera, nav system) and you're into the car for 44K or so. I'm driving a 2013, my guess is that the '14 is even nicer. If you're looking at any of the Audi,BMW,Benz lineup, find a Volvo dealer who has an R on the lot and test drive the car. It will really open your eyes, make your choice a lot harder, save you many thousands of dollars, and perhaps save your life in a crash. Volvo for life.
Volvos don't sell, hardly ever see one around Southern Connecticut
This car does 5.0 sec easy ,I don’t know what this guy is talking about..some claim 4.8 sec 0-60.
It's been 7 years...can't remember - This Guy.
87 octane won’t give you the top performance
the interior doesn't match with the exterior .. the car looks more attractive from the outside then the inside .. it has boring interior that need more attention ..
Volvo makes their cars independently of their parent company...
There's a reason everyone blends into the Benz and Bimmer crowd...quite simply they're the best cars on the road today.
Bmw and benz are overrated
cheaper and runs on regular wow lol
Only problem is that, it's still a Volvo :/
Which is the best part of it ..
Where the stripper polestars at?
I hate that color--
as much as Pepto Bismol pink
nice..but the steering wheel ..too big
