Hello everyone! Just a FYI I have updated the description and added links to a lot of the gear I put on my kayak so that you are interested in getting any other the items for you rig you can just click on the link! Hope this helps you out!
Great video. You have all the parts I bought, doing my install today after work. Everything from the Yak Attack through hull grommets, 3" Ram mount, Velcro strips, Helix 5 and Old Town is same as what I have. Cheers!
would be nice to see how you drill that hole and run the cables to the finder .. you can run your hand through the front dry hull to feed the cable through ... hadn't got my kayak yet .. just looking to see how all things wired and mounted :) ..
The side imagining works great! You don't want the transducer to be lower than the bottom of the kayak or you run the risk of hitting it on something or scratching it up bad.
I might go with the bird when I get back! Still undecided between the Lowrance or the Bird 🤙🏼 Anyway, love the video man! One day the gang will all go kayaking again!
My fish finder went bad and I haven't missed it on my kayak. I'm not fishing offshore or deep water and know most of the areas I fish in the river or near the river.

Plug ins for the battery are also nice for plugging in a trickle charger! Thanks for sharing!
@@1316jet no problem!! Glad ya liked the video
One of the better videos on how to install a fish finder and transducer!
This video answered alot of questions I had about my fish finder hook up. Thank You.
It’s be super helpful if there was a list of all the parts you used with links. Thank you for the video! I’ve really enjoyed your channel.
I'll try to put that together and add it

Awesome! Your gonna love it! Hope you get plenty of fish this summer!
@@DinsmoreOutdoors thanks you have a great summer also! I am still ice fishing up north haha, hopefully get the kayak out soon. Cheers!

I`ll be sure to do that on my next rigging video when I run my lights
when you drilled the hole for the transducer cord. Did you start drilling from the inside first?
@@christophermadere8193 I used the through hole fitting as a template and drilled from the outside of the kayak.
Have you had any issues with the side imaging in relation to where you mounted the transducer.
Nope not at all, it has been working great. If I could do it again though I would have gotten the 7 instead of the 5 for a little bigger screen.
Very nice video. I am in the market for a fish finder myself from my kayak and may look this one up. Is that battery rechargeable
Does this position of the head unit get in the way of paddling ?
no not really, its out of the way enough i have never hit it. plus im pedaling more than i am paddling.
How well does the Side imaging work? When you mounted it, the transducer was lower than the sides of the kayak. Does that matter?
The side imagining works great! You don't want the transducer to be lower than the bottom of the kayak or you run the risk of hitting it on something or scratching it up bad.
And the side imaging still works? Thought you have to have transducer mounted so it's slightly below plastic for side imaging to work
Do you have video on your kayak stand, list of hardware and what size pvc?
No sorry I didn't make a video when I put it together sorry
Why did you pick the right side to mount it?
Because I'm right handed, and it makes it easier
@@DinsmoreOutdoors doesnt get in the way of casting on the right at all?
Nope it hasn't, it's been good

Love my birds!
How do you recharge your battery?
They sell small 12v plug in chargers on Amazon that has alligator clips I us that
Hey what kind of watch is that? It’s cool looking watch
Its a G shock they are real tough.
What did you get the battery connectors?
Did you mean where? I had them in a butt connecter kit I had on hand.
The contractor in me is saying just use the supplied bolts and cut them down lol
I feel that 😂
When and where's the maiden voyage?
Went out today after snook!! And succeed ☺️ so keep a eye out for the video
which helix 5 is the one you used ? thx
The HELIX 5 CHIRP SI GPS G2 they are probably on Gen 3 by now
Great video man!

I mostly use it to find holes that the sea trout are hanging out in and with side imaging I can find oyster bars
Something. 😉
So, your home bro?
Yep I sure am!!
@@DinsmoreOutdoors Welcome home man.
Love how its just edited to the wires all being where they need to be lol no tips on running wires through the kayak
I'm sure there is a video on TH-cam on how to put connectors on the ends of wires.
Super easyy
