    What kind of fasteners do they use on the cable? And how do they work the one that gowls into the rudder for steering

    Nick, one complaint. You actually need two sets of the Hobie three hole kit that you like to. It only comes with one hole cover

    Hey Nick, which would be the correct scupper mount for a Helix 7 mega SI transducer? It would be going onto a Salty. Thanks

    • @NavarreKayakFishing
      @NavarreKayakFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would need the “Humminbird” version. Mention you need the salty topper in the note section at checkout and we will make sure you receive it.

    So Guess you need to use a thu hull with screws like Yak Attack since you cant reach the inside of the kayak, like you would need for a Hobie or Wilderness thu hull install

    • @NavarreKayakFishing
      @NavarreKayakFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hobie makes a three way thru hull that works perfect and is the one I prefer.

    Does anyone know if this is possible without harming the unit?
    Everyone on line seem to be using only 12v batteries.

    Thank you Nick! I have the same kayak and the same Garmin unit with the GT-51. I will watch this video many times and follow your advice and techniques. I have your scupper mount system but do I need to order a different one for the large transducer? I believe that’s what you indicated. I’ll probably mount on the port side hand grip as I’m a lefty caster and want to keep the starboard side free and clear. There’s no issue with the rudder steering control, right? I should be forward of that area? You keep all plastic cutouts and the drill shavings? Have you ever had to use them for repairs of any kind? Thanks again. Very timely for me.

    Nick, could you make a gear track that fits the Salty, going from the back screw to the middle one outside the tankwell in the back? Could be used to mount a flag, your anchor pin solution, etc. Would it be reliable cutting across that back corner?
