That #3 tip is money john!!! Everytime i have left a fitting with you i have learned more about my swing and game. Not only was the fitting awesome, but it was almost like a mini lesson in certain areas as well to try and help me optimize my delivery. Result= lower scores and more circles on the scorecard! Appreciate what you do man… keep crushing it!!

Congratulations on the award from golf digest . Please give me a little guidance as to what shaft I can use in a sim 2 max head . I live in Indonesia and can’t go to a fitting . Because of age my driver swing speed is only 90 mph , lofted to 12 ‘ my dispersion is pretty centralised but distance is only 180 yards…. A few extra yards would be wonderful.

So tough one without actually seeing your swing. If your shots are pretty straight then I would have to say it may be a spin loft issue.at 90mph, you should be able to sneak it out to 220 or so. Here is one of the hung to test, spray the face with footspray to see where your strikepoint is. I need to know where on the face you are coming into contact and more importantly I need to know it it’s consistent. The good news is I know without question that you current setup isn’t helping we just need to determine is it the shaft, or head and heck it could possibly be both. As a side note and if you were to get fit by me I would even consider going up in flex and lighter weight as I have found that could also help with stability and speed. Let me know if you can try the test and what your results are.

@@SwingFit thank you so very much for your answer. I completely understand it’s a bit of a shot in the dark with seeing my swing and additional information. I will get a strike patten for you to see , and some strike numbers . I really appreciate the time you have taken . Guys like you are far and few between. 👏

    1) Educate yourself about your own bag: lofts, carry distances, shot shapes for each club, your comfort level with each club - off the grass or tee'd up. You should be able to write this down or quickly run through your entire bag giving the fitter all of these details
    2) What is the longest Par 3 you play, what club do you use, if you played it 10 times, how many times would you hit the green? Are you open to a hybrid of 7wood for this club or do you want an iron? If you couldn't tee up the ball for this distance, would you use the same club?
    3) If you are 190-210 out from the green in the ruff, of the left side of the fairway, what club would you use? how about on the Right side of the fairway? Do you have this shot in your bag? If a new club could give you this shot would it help you?
    4) At 45 yards from the green, on a super-super-tight lie, what club do you use? Can you hit this shot? If not, if there was a club/wedge that enabled you to hit this shot, is this something to put in the bag?
    5) As chipping/pitching styles have changed from being very back in your stance to more centered, would you chip/pitch with a 50/52 if it had a more flexible c-grind sole or easier / more confidence-inspiring sole?
    6) On a very tight tree-lined 350-yard hole, what club do you tee off with? Would you consider giving up a 3wood, if you don't use it much, for an easier to hit, 43", bigger head 13-degree mini-driver, or maybe a 40", heavier shafted, 16-degree #2-hybrid (face-opened for anti-left protection)?
    7) Do you want the longer end of the bag, hybrids & 5/7-woods, set up with opened faces for anti-left help, or do you want them set up with closed faces, because you need help in this part of the bag to prevent the ball from going Right - or do you want alternating left & right clubs so you have tools that will help you do both?

Thanks for some great advice John👍
The "Don't Buy before you try" advice is pertinent to me these days and might highlight an issue for the Fitting Industry moving forward. My issue is that because of arthritis in my hands & thumbs I now have Jumbomax Ultralite Grips on all my clubs. So if I go for a Fitting ALL the shafts have Grips that I can't use (without considerable pain).
I had planned to go for a Fitting for a new Fairway Wood recently, but I had to abandon the plan because of the Grip issue. So moving forward I am struggling to know what to do, it would be unrealistic of me to expect the Fitter to have a bunch of Jumblmax Grips just for me and to put them on every shaft option we want to try.
    Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

So funny you asked this question, I just recently did a fitting where a customer brought his own grip in, and it worked out perfectly as I was able to blow it on, yes it takes extra time to do so, but it’s 100% was worth the time. The key thing is to make sure the fitter has the ability to do so, having air that is.So I would order an extra grip to have on hand. Hope this helped

I prefer rub on sunscreen and spray on bug spray! Hydration ... generally ice water, but sometimes lemon aid or Arnold Palmer!

I agree w most of your comments But, I would say a very high % of golfers don’t get fit for clubs and still play well To say that u shouldn’t buy a club w/o hitting it is probably true but most do and some of us are pretty good

    • @SwingFit

No disputing that there are a lot of golfers who play far better than myself with hand me downs or off the shelves builds, with that said I the true advantage of getting fit is it can become a difference maker to help anyone who is tugging and doesn’t know why, it’s simply part of the equation that can be and or could be causing the issues. Thanks for sharing my man.
