Are your clubs helping or hurting? Do you struggle with your golf game? Do your clubs appear to have a mind of their own? Do you want to play better golf? Are you tired of trying this and trying that?
If you answered yes to any of these then you're in the right place. Every year we help 100's of golfers eliminate the guesswork by identifying not only the best set of golf golf clubs to take their game to another level, but we also help them understand how those golf clubs need to be assembled and built to accommodate the way they swing and deliver the golf club, and although club fitting isn't a silver bullet, it does account for the other side of the coin. We know that either Technique or Golf Clubs alone will only get you so far, but when combined together, you can get there faster.

A great guy right here fit me for my clubs about 2 years ago or so and I love the clubs. So if you ever need a fitting go here.
Someone needs to build one where the two layers are not glued together, allowing the top layer to move independently to the rubber mat
Incredible. This is identical to what is happening in my current game..I just purchased a set of Mamiya RECOIL 480 F4 shafts and am looking forward to installing them. . May i ask, Do you recommend a particular swing weight with Graphite over Steel ? and do you also think an iron should be 1/2 inch longer when using graphite, over steel ? Great vid content. Big thanks for this one.
No I don’t agree with longer lengths in graphite but I understand why, and that’s because SW is so hard to get a the Standard length and there really isn’t that much you can do in regards to tips weights for graphite shafts. But with that said I will say whether or not if you play steel or graphite everyone has a preferred SW and it won’t change regardless of the material. Best of luck to you.
Great video - IMO the number one issue is the shaft - the 'engine' of the swing.
The shaft without question is extremely important
Tommy Armour 855 2 iron. lol
Hi.I purchased a set of irons that are 1/2 inch longer than standard and have AMT White s300 shafts..I hit them in the middle, but hit very deep divots and struggle to swing these heavy clubs.Question..If I cut the shafts to my fitting ,IE, standard 37 inch 7 iron, would these irons be usable? Thanks Nick..West Oz..
I guess I'm playing some dinosaurs. 4 to pw are Ping i3's. Still work, and when I get in to be fit for new irons, I'm very curious to see how much of an improvement there will be with today's tech. BTW, Great video and breakdown of rhe fitting process
Thanks for the support and kind words.
Hello, excellent content, i learn a lot with your videos. Thank you very much. Do you know where I can get the certification to be a club fitter?
It’s a really good question and there appears to be enough interest that we are going to do a video sharing some practical tips. Thanks again for the support and kind words.
Very new beginner here. I’m 6’3” and have one of the Strata club sets from the PGA store. I know I need more practice and better technique, but could I need longer clubs as well? The guys I was playing with this past weekend said that I did, but still unsure. I’m coming from a baseball background so it is still quite awkward to put the swing together comfortably
At your height you could use a little extra length. Go you know for sure comes down to a couple of things. Are you catching the ball low in the face, and or does it feel or look like that you have to bend over more just to find the middle of the face . If both of these are no then you are likely good to go.
@@SwingFit yes to some extent to catching it low in the face, but not always. Yes to feeling like I have to bend over considerably to be at a “good angle”
Quality information and advice!! Much appreciated!!!
Glad it was helpful!
I know I’m a few years late, doesn’t cutting out the yoga mat to make room for the cardboard/tape just remove all of the extra cushion right where you need it? If not, couldn’t you just use cardboard under the whole mat? And if he yoga mat is better than the cardboard, why not use a section of yoga mat wrapped in tape(to keep the tee from ripping through)?
So not really, that was really only used for when hitting the driver. So you would never come into contact with the Matt. Since then I’ve switched to the new BirtTees. Those things have been phenomenal.
At 1.29 on your video, you said; "I can INSURE YOU" rather than "I can ASSURE YOU". Just saying! Other than that the info on your video is really good.
Thanks for the support, and feedback. on another note my video editor has a really hard job I can assure you of that. 😀
Good lord have you never mispronounced a single word, especially on camera? Let me guess , you’re a Democrat voting public school teacher.
Hoping you would address #5. I’ve gotten “unstuck” many time by making a big move in the other direction. Nice video.
Thanks for the support
This should be common sense lol😂. I wish to go into the club fitting world but it seems super difficult to do. Cluld u maybe make a video about how to become a fitter ir something along thoes lines?
One would think right, but unfortunately it’s really not. Thanks for the suggestion and I do believe we can work that up.
Great stuff John. Unfortunately most fittings are not like this.
Well I’m hoping to change that 😀
First?
Not sure if you had a question, but I will take a stab, everyone wants to hit it farther but you should never base a decision off of how far the best shot goes. But rather how good or far does the bad shots go would be more of a telling picture of how effective or good a golf club is for you. So don’t chase the distance and it will come.
I switch off between my hybrid & heavenwood (basically 7 wood) and the way I got to fix my dispersion from hitting left with the hybrid is by making my shaft slightly stiffer. Idk why it works, but it definitely helps
I stopped trying to rationalize fittings a long time ago, sometimes the best answer is, it just works.
Bro that music is poppin for when I'm working out & listening to golf videos
It’s pretty cool but I can’t take credit that’s all Dakota.
A Little bit of arthritis???? LOL!
Jumbo max grips all day long
Glad to see another video from your channel! I have a question about my dad who is 64 this year and starting to lose distance and confidence from the tee. He is working with a TSR2 10 degree head with loft turned up and stock HZRDS (black color) regular flex shaft. I suggested he try a regular flex Ventus velocore red or TR red. I also suggested he get into a higher spinning ball because he tends to hit drop kicks that fall out of the air too fast. I thought the Bridgestone Tour B RXS was a decent option for him to try. Anything else you’d recommend? I know going in for a fitting would be best. He did this for his current driver a year or so ago. No recent injuries for him, just getting older. His current ball is Kirkland Thanks for the great work you do!
I would say all of the above would be a good option. In specific anything we can do to optimize the launch conditions would only help. We all know distance is predicated on ch speed first and foremost, as as we get up in age there are a couple of things we can do such as looking at lighter weight driver options, doesn’t always work but it could be a possibility. Tsr1, and basically everyone under the sun has one out there, lightweight shaft and head can help. The other piece is making sure the delivery is optimized we don’t want to be hitting down on The ball and we need the club path and face to path relationship to be in alignment with one another. If those three things check out then it is without question speed and gear. I hope this helps.
Great to see your new content! Very effective as usual, really enjoyed the presentation!! Glad business is going so well in a very difficult financial situation for most folks!
Thanks for the kind words, don’t get me wrong it’s busy but a different busy. Less foot traffic but that has made us buckle down on the quality of our fits and as a result we are seeing more repeat customers.
My PING 7 Wood has been a terrific add to the bag. Good review. I was playing a par 5 the other day . Used the 7 wood on the tee. Used the 7 wood all the way to the green. I was on in 3 total shots. Then took one putt into the hole for the bird. 7 wood stays in my bag.
Agree 100% will be really hard to get that out of the bag any time soon
Great video! My eventual hole is to become a club fitter one day, this was on point. 😁
Thanks, don’t hesitate to ever reach out should you have any questions.
Glad your back and congrats on the booming business. Great principle on fitting. Good luck to most of us finding someone that we can trust. Unfortunately, most fitters, at least, in my neck of the woods, are only interested in selling and upselling. All we want is to find a fitter that is trustworthy and has our best interest at heart above and beyond their own. These are far and few. Cheers.
I agree with you and I’m hoping through content like this and everyone’s continue support that we’ll be able to make. A difference. Thanks again.
I recently got fitted for new T200 irons with project x lz5.5 shafts my previous set was ap1 with dg s300. I’m really having trouble with the new irons trajectory as it is about 20’ higher than I’m used to seeing, and I play in wind a lot so I’m used to a more boring trajectory. Also thinning a fair amount. BTW 57 y/o 6.6 handicap with 82 mph 8 iron swing speed never had a problem stopping irons on a green with s300. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance
Shafts could be a small factor but the launch conditions with the t200 and CG location is likely more the culprit though. So I would go back and share feedback about height and see if you can revisit the head with the newer DG Mid 115 shaft.
@@SwingFit Thanks for the quick reply any possible recommendations for a graphite shaft that could be similar?
My suggestion would be to use Precision Golf as a rough model or framework for your studio and build from there. They have high level production and seem to offer a high level service.
Nice break down... the tip about taking a break is huge. Be surprised how tired you get and quickly, especially when swinging driver. Nice to see you back and I'm glad business is booming over there. Being busy is a great reason for not being able to put out vids =)
Thanks bud, it felt good being behind the camera again.
I got fitted to mmt 105 stiff by Taylor made at demo event with p790. Confused because I only sang at 75-78 mph.
Don’t be my friend, you likely have a little quicker transition or you might pull on the handle a little harder than that of how fast you are swinging the club. Completely ok and I wouldn’t be alarmed.
Excellent...
Thanks for the support.
I have a question for you. I have the one length irons. I am getting swing weights from c2 c3 c6. That's the ones I checked. The website says the should be d0. I have heard all your irons should be the same swing weight. Should I try to get them all to d0 and how for up the set should you go. They do have different swing weights for the PW and GW at d1 Thanks
If I’m a betting man it’s likely because of the grips you are using . At you playing jumbo grips if so which ones?
@@SwingFit These are the grips that came with the clubs from cobra. Just standard grips. I did not touch them out of the box and noticed I was playing army style golf. I then decided to swing weight them. The 6I was C6 7I C3 and 8I C2. those are the ones I checked.
I play regular steel stock shaft on my Taylor made speedblade irons. However, in a demo day fitting by mizuno and Taylor made they fitted me To MMT 105 stiff. My 7 iron. Swing speed is between 75-78mph. Very surprised.
That’s a good move, weight of shafts doesn’t affect your timing or tempo and perhaps just a little bit feel and launch. Thanks for sharing
I miss your videos. We need more of them.
Video engine is firing back up as we speak. Thanks for the continued support.
Awesome content. What might be really nice to see, are some swing videos of "early release", "late release", slow tempo, fast tempo, hard loading vs smooth swinging golfers etc... and then what type of shaft category you'd choose for each swing type... viewers could then say "that looks more like I swing, I should maybe consider a shaft that's more tip stiff, or more but stiff etc... seeing what swing types match up with what shaft types as a fitter would be awesome, and I don't know that I've ever seen any videos show that in a visual way..
These are all great suggestions, as much as I don’t want to film my customers swings I think I need to figure out how to film where it’s not a distraction. Thanks again for the support and suggestions
Trim the fat
Fellow golf nerds, and anyone looking for a greater understanding on proper “fit” of golf clubs, this IS your channel! 🏌️♂️
I had my LW and SW extended to match the length of my GW. That solved a length problem, but it created two new issues. The first was that because my wedges were longer, their lie angles were effectively a couple degrees too upright and balls were shooting left. Easy fix though. The second issue is a significant increase in swing weight, as the added length has made the heads feel so much heavier. This isn’t really fixable short of drilling away material from the heads, which I’m not inclined to do. So long story short, just get fitted for your wedges in the first place and you won’t have these issues.
All great points but we build all of our wedges long and you do t have to remove weight from the head in fact you really can’t without ruining the integrity of the head. So to offset the longer length you just need to add a counter weight in The handle. Simple fix and it works every time.
My most expensive golf club was a custom built Bobby Grace Side Saddle putter....better part of $1000!!! Upside is I putt lights out with this monster!!
Cost really becomes irrelevant especially if it does exactly what it’s suppose to and from the sound of it you have a great level of confidence with that bad boy.
Great explanation!! I have to play all my clubs shorter for a different reason and wondering if you have came across any other golfer with the same issue. My arms are quite a bit longer than normal....think 6 inch reach advantage if I was a boxer. I'm 6ft tall and my finger tips are nearly at my knees!!
Without question, the key is never be afraid to color outside of the lines and how sometimes black and white can make purple. Thanks for sharing.
I just bought the head for $90 US on ebay. Already game pxg so I can pop my gamer shaft in. Pumped to customize it.
Heads are still so good and even better when you can find for this kind of price. Get your self a hand full of different size weights and start playing around with them.
👏👏👏👏
Wondering what your thoughts are on this bag of clubs I just received from Callaway. I put them on a swing weight machine last night and this is what I found: Swing weights D3 - 4i,6i D4 - 5i,7i,9i D4.5 - 10i D5 - 8i, UW D6 - Dr D5.5 - 11i D7 - 54 D8 - 58
From my experience SW is very critical, I guess the good thing is you have a nice hodge podge set of swingweights to play around with and if I’m a betting man one of those clubs is going to be something that you hit better then anything else. Once you find it then I can say you found your ideal swingweight. 😀
@@SwingFit Am I correct in assuming that I should be then figuring out a way to get them all to be the same swing weight once I figure out which one i like?
@@drawdy10 yes especially if you find that one of them performs way better then anything else.
Just subscribed. You seem like a guy I could get along with. Great info. 💪🏻
Thanks for the support and kind words.
Amazing stuff! Great information and content. Thank you!
I’m glad you found it helpful.
I bought some used clubs after mine broke. I knew they were old but I finally looked them up. Titelist 962b from 1993….. my clubs are older than I am
That’s crazy, but I have also seen some nice relics as well.
They don't do Swingweight at the end of Fitting Session because they are urgently trying finalise a Sale
Won’t argue that point at all, big box stores run fittings by the clock, and often end up doing their customers wrong as a result of rushing through the motions.
First of all, the way you explain your content is amazing! Thank you. I do have a question- I want to get fitted for new irons, hybrids, and wedges. Should I do one at a time, or all together? Or should I start with one particular say irons then wedges, then hybrids? To be honest for me affordability wise it would be easier to do them separately.
You could do them in a single day and if you did I would follow this order. Irons, wedges and the. Hybrids. This will not only allow you to figure out the correct gapping but it will also allow you to break up the full swing clubs with the wedges so it kind of gives you a little break in between.
I want to make the switch myself.
You can but you may end up in a shaft that just doesn’t work they call it goofy graphite for a reason as they are not all created equal.
20 year old titliest 3 wood is the oldest club I still use. I bought a new stealth last yesr for more distance, but my smash factor is higher with the old Titliest.
Sometimes this just happens and when it does I never try to argue, dispute or rationalize why it is what it is, we just need to know it is. Thanks for sharing.
Meaning the correct type shaft will be determined by the current swing speed But will swing speed increase or maximize by using the correct shaft
How’s this dude swinging mid 80s and only getting 106 ball speed? My ss was between 83-85 with a 105 shaft p790, and I was averaging over 10mph ball speed higher and 180 yards. That’s a significant difference for basically the same ss. Was he striking the ball everywhere but the middle of the face? I’m not trying to be as ass, just curious? Seems like his biggest issue of all is ball striking
Dynamic loft, so as much as I would love to believe ClubFitting is a silver bullet is just not the case. My moto is live by is turn bad shots into good shots, good shots into great shots, so as long as we are able to help things move in a positive direction, will we be able to help our customers get a little better.
