Yes, he is talking about his illness, which is ongoing. Watching one of Ren’s interviews, he says that he is still in pain, even now, treatment notwithstanding. (Cheshire, UK 🇬🇧)
Ren said that he intended to do a video. I believe, at the time, the lyric video was the best he was able to do between his health and access to videographers.

The beginning is a description of the day his pain broke his mind & he slipped into psychosis. He has talked about it in interviews. He was repeatedly hospitalized after that & he was sure he wouldn't live to see 30. He still is not, & may never be, "well". If you watch the making-of video for "Halftime" you'll see him practicing lyrics with an IV in his arm for his ongoing treatment. Much of the myelin sheath in his brain was eaten away by Lyme disease during the years of misdiagnosis. The lack of the sheath allows waves of pain to be sent through his body.
You have to remember Ren was and is undergoing intensive treatment 5 days a week in Canada. He continues to make music though and has put out a few retakes and mash ups of his favourite artists recently ( Feb/ March )

This song actually came out Oct 13th 2023 on the SickBoi album but the lyric video was released later. He’s not able to always do actual videos due to his intense medical treatment in Canada and his cinematographers being in the U.K. 🖤

The language was welsh at the beginning… I think the last 4 songs he wrote for the sick boo album he didn’t have time for, he was leaving for treatment in Canada… Losing it is a great “ rap” song of his over an older edm track by Fisher an Aussie dj that Ren wilds on 👍

Pain is an everyday reality for Ren, but this was the day he fell into psychosis after an immune reaction to yet another failed treatment. He was 25 already 6 years into his illness. Still didn't have a correct diagnosis. He is still trying to find health 13 years of symptoms.

Ren had a concept in mind for a video here, but I believe he just ran out of time between treatment 5 days a week and other music projects.
This is one of Ren's best, in my opinion. Thank you for sharing your reaction with us! I would recommend turning off the captions for any Ren song - they're never right, so it just winds up being an unnecessary distraction. I completely understand wanting to have the lyrics available while you're listening, but maybe you could have them pulled up for yourself separately? Regardless, great reaction!

Btw, he's still going through it. He's better than he was but he's still seriously ill and in constant pain. He can't make a video for every track, especially when most of the tracks on the album did have a video. This track wasn't even released separately. It's essentially an album track! :)
P.S. You caught the Kendrick bar but missed that it was part of a scheme. It was preceded by a Clapton bar and a Hendrix bar. :)
