Honestly, this was not a good video. You should have done more research. First off, no one should use Zorin OS! It is built on ancient versions of Gnome and Linux! ElementaryOS is great... until you realize it doesn't properly install GPU drivers!

Okay I am a Fedora user, I love Fedora and have the MATE-Compiz spin of Fedora 39 installed on everything from Desktops to Laptops and even Raspberry Pi's but it's far from a "lightweight" OS! Oh and they dropped support for 32 bit some time ago.

I agree with your video, but as a programmer with a very old 4 GB RAM laptop, this operating system is quite heavy for my laptop. As you know, programming requires multitasking, so the Linux OS you mentioned takes up 1.2 GB of RAM in laptops. Therefore, I prefer Linux Lite for every developer facing similar issues.
Although Linux Lite may look old, it requires very little RAM, approximately 512 MB for PCs and 700+ MB for laptops, and the CPU usage is around 1%.

You can also use windows 7 - ghost spectre ( if your laptop is old ) or the Ghost spetre version of windows 8/10 whatever came with your laptop . And upgrade to ssd you can get a sata ssd cheap and you will feel the speed and performance improvement on the very first boot .
LXLE is the best light weight linux distro in my opinion, is very light it's just uses around 250 mb of ram

User friendly and very lightweight. I have Zorin running on a 10 year old Asus Chromebox and it runs perfect. Retroarch and KODI both run great.
Most of the distro on the list are not really geared for old computers. Unless we're talking something like 6th gen intel with 16GB of RAM and a graphics card.

Zorin OS is a pretty good and lightweight OS, You can also use BlissOS if you want to run android applications but the experience may not be very well polished.

Lubuntu 20.04 flies on my low level Celeron N laptop! And I'm running it from a USB2.0 flash drive (full install, not persistent. Which allows upgrades.) Web browsing and office tasks are snappy. Streaming video lags some depending on the video resolution, but not bad most of the time. I can even run Steam and Heroic Launcher and have run a few low end indie games. I'm betting having it installed to a proper HDD or SSD might do away with the performance issues I'm experiencing. Takes a bit of getting used to and Lubuntu seems to get a lot of hate, but I love it.

I HIGHLY recommend either ZORIN 16.3, MX LINUX, or SPARKY linux 7 VERY VERY FAST- simple- and full of all the tools for whatever you want-- and you can run any of them off a USB stick or on low powered computer.. EASILY... OF these 3- Sparky is probably the FASTEST- and easiest to install.. all apps in the "store" included are optmized for THIS system.. and it also works GREAT if you want all FLATPAK... ZORIN 16.3- which he recommended here-- IS great. I just installed it a week ago- on a second drive- and it's GREAT. I can run my security camera andoid apps on it-- windows apps on it (If you're so inclined- but I hate windows so never use that)... and it's BEATUIFUL- FAST and simple.

tried about 20 distros of linux/ubuntu for my old windows tablet. but none of them worked out of the box to have rotating display and touchsreen capabiilty. it was just time consuming and cumbersome.

Batocera. They have a scaled-down version for Atom processors. It will play all 16 bit and 32 bit systems. Nothing will run from PS1 and up.
actually atom processor not support by most of them still you can try Chrome os
@@Shafintech Batocera quietly released a build for Atom processors a few years go. I use it on an Asus Netbook from 2012 via a USB drive from and it works well. It does struggle with some Sega 32x and NeoGeo games.

Yesterday I tried to revive a 10+ year old laptop which was a gift to me from my grandpa. I had so many things installed so it was slow and then I found its screen was glitching so I made it a screen less laptop (headless laptop) and Installed Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.2 but still it works slow. I need a OS for it and it's specifications are 32 bit 1GHz processor and 2 GB ram.

Zorin is not lightweight in any way or form. If you allocate zorin a ram of 4gb it uses 700-800 at bootup and will easily consume the most ram with just 3 chome tabs open. There are much better distros like manjaro's xfce or lubuntu's lxqt or opensuse. All of them can run games pretty well and good. And why is fedora on 1st.... its literally doesn't come near to being lightweight, Fedora is a midspec distro... Please do your research properly and test them in a vm before sharing with your viewers.
