    This thing is mega impressive in person.
    I also think it isn’t fair they get typecast as the “Royal oak company”. That may be what most people know but they are part of the holy trinity for a reason and APRP does high end work for many brands including RM.

    Everything about this watch is awesome ... except for the dial design, which is TERRIBLE considering the source. Especially the date at 4:30, which I despise. AP should simply REDESIGN the dials on the CODE 11.59. Because that's the reason people don't like it. Seems obvious to me. By the way, it's 11.59, not 11:59 (a dot, not a colon) ... a small detail, I know, but my obsessive-compulsive disorder wanted to point it out anyway. 😁

    • @erikig
      @erikig 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the 4:30 date is very difficult to pull off well. In this application it throws off the balance of the beautiful dial. I wish they’d figured out how to place the date at the 6 o’clock position *or* added another small window for day at 7:30

    I got a 11.59 chrono last month, the watch is AMAZING (and yes I own ROs, not offshore)

    As beautiful as the watch may be from different angles... it still looks like a Michael Kors watch from the front and I've worn the Code a few times at the boutique.

    For such a sporty looking watch, I wonder why they didn't make the water resistance better.

    Neat!
    That's a beautiful case design, I just wish AP stops putting date complications on chronographs.

    Need some advice...looking at the 3 hand with white dial. Any comments at all? This one speaks to me the most. Good to hear opinions and thoughts. Collector, looking at preloved minty piece that has become available recently...thanks guys!

    I like the code. Looks very modern now vs thr ROO and RO. The ROO is simply big and ugly...looks so dated.

    I mailed you a watch for sale in June, it is now mid August and I have not received payment. It has been over 50 days. I am not the only one. Per BBB website, you've been slow-paying / stiffing people who try to sell watches. Anyone who is considering doing business with these folks, be mindful that they are currently experiencing a lot of issues, and aren't the company they were a few years ago. Their TH-cam content is wonderful, but their accounting department and customer service is lacking.

    So well done, now I need to take a second look at the AP Code 11:59. I recently discovered the Hidden Gem series from Crown & Caliber and each one is very enlightening. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    I dislike the 4:30 date placement and would prefer no date if that's the best they can do. The name also doesn't have the cachet of "Royal Oak", "Calatrava" or "Overseas".

  • @Super3xtr4
    @Super3xtr4 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Of course, the watch is well made. I don't think anyone argues about that. But to make a watch so amazingly finished with the highest level of materials as well as watchmaking and make it look like a 200$ fashion watch is just a big fail.

    • @CrownandCaliber
      @CrownandCaliber  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly it looks horrible in pictures compared to in person, you would never mistake it for a fashion watch in person. That being said most of us will only see it in pictures so it should look good in them -Mark

      Idk men, I think I’m one of the few people that loved 1159, specially the perpetual calendar. WHY do you think it looks like a $200 dollar watch? All honesty PATEK 1157 looks like a $50 bucks watch. What is the hype with that watch?

    Code 11:59 is a great adaptation/copy/refinement of Jacob & Co. Astronomia's case design.
    I love the Code 11:59 chronographs, the dials of the other models however are a huge mistake IMHO.
    The case of the Code 11:59 is my favourite in all of the watch world: simple and traditional enough overall, yet incredibly complex, sharp and detailed. Strong and chunky yet not unnecessary dive watch size for the 99.9% of us who do not dive.

  • @tareqsaadah7786

    Is code 11:59 a good investment?

    • @jackominty3633
      @jackominty3633 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like a lot of great watches, you may lose 25% before the price settles. That's just how it is if you buy watches you truly admire and want.
      You can, with great patience and some good AD relationships, only target watches that will be worth more than retail.
      I have two rules (1) I have to love the watch, and (2) there has to be a reasonable limit to how much it will lose. If you insist on lot losing much, then buy used, but there are valuable brownie points to be picked up buying retail, that can be cashed-in later to get a difficult piece.
